Man, these bodies are getting out of hand...can we PLEASE make them at least resemble real race cars? That only looks like a Bentley in the nose, and there is entirely too much downforce on that, as with many of the new bodies these days...IMO, of course. Maybe I'm just too old school...I WANT MY TOJ BACK!! :)

As batteries, motors, and pretty much everything else increases in performance I can only hope that the bodies evolve to match. With speeds going up and tire tech pretty much static the extra downforce won't hurt. Real cars evolve to achieve better performance, so should we...

New TOJ bodies are $10 at Tower Hobbies..good luck with that!

If you guys want the cars to look more realistic, we'll have to be running wings. Wing cars don't work very well at low speeds so be careful what you wish for.

It's just impossible to make a 1/12 scale look realistic with the motor pod in the way.

We could put a wing on em but they would have to be waaay to high. The full-scale cars are so sloped down right where our car's motors sit.

Can anyone tell me what the chassis thickness of the REV 3 is suppose to be or what theirs are? Mine is only 2mm and seems like it has alot of flex compared to a Carpet Knife?

old school front end brace

anybody know were or who makes the cross braces for the old ae front end(not the speedmerchent arm inserts but the cross bar type)

Anyone try or have any good pics of the new Yokomo MS2 body? I've only seen small pictures of them. Gonna order one to try out I guess. Kinda resembles a Speed8 with a steeper front end. This new Speed10 looks nice too.

Does AE make 2 lengths of Front Springs?

I just finished building my Reflex 12 and all of the Trinity team drivers are using AE .020 front springs. I have a pile of those so I put them on. To achieve 0 preload I had to take out all but one shim above the top ball. Now the bottom of the king pin touches the inside of the rim. A shorter spring and putting the shims back would fix this.

Any Suggestions?

AdrianM--You need to grind down the little shoulder on the pivot ball. That is the only way you can use the AE springs because they are longer.

AE make two lengths of springs. The part numbers beginning with 4 are for 1/12 scale. The part numbers beginning with 8 are for 1/10th scale.

Get a set of IRS 1/12 kingpins. You won't have to worry about shims.

i just put together a CRC carpet knife and i am not really sure what to make of it.(all my other cars have been t-plate cars) anyway the center shock is a micro vcs w/blue spring (from my 12L3) and it seems like it pushes way too hard on the top plate of the motor pod.when you look at the car from the side it looks odd. there appears to be a convex angle between the chassis and lower pod plate. is it supposed to be this way?or should i be using a softer center spring?like i said this is my first non t-plate car and i am not sure about initial set up.any suggestions?

I have a Carpet Knife as well and mine does it too until my battery pack is installed then it levels off. If it doesn't, soften up the pre-load or swap to a softer spring

Hey Guys,
I currently run the Trinity switchblade 12 SE 2002 edition, but i am concerned over the lack of parts availability- all of them that arent on the RFX12 (ie, pod plates, main chassis, basically everything that isnt the front end) has been discontinued. Would you reccomend buying a reflex 12 just to have the parts available? I also like the sound of the 12 ball diff.

The Rev3 chassis that I have is in the .093-.094" range or 2.36-2.4mm for you fans of the metric system.
