Thanks for the tip. Doing my research now.

Does sealing the edges of carbon fibre chassis affect the flex?
If so, is it a significant amount, or just something only a pro would notice? Just about to build a new kit and enquiring minds want to know...

I planned to try my CRC GenXL Xti on our outdoor track in a 2s-17.5 configuration but I just réalité that 2s low profile shorties are a little bit longer than 1s lipos... Do you run yours in 2s? Whatmodel is compatible transversal 2s?

I've done the 2s experiment on asphalt with 17.5 blinky up to 13.5 boosted. On Carpet I went up to an 8.5 w/ boost and loved every second of it (1/12th should be on 2s in my opinion)! I was using a modified 12r5.2 w/ r6 pivot assembly, and had no issues fitting Low Profile 2s packs from Trinity, ProTek, and Reedy. I will say that case dimensions do vary between the manufacturers, but I don't remember it being significant. If I were to buy a new pack tomorrow I'd get another ProTek.

Even with the same manufacturer... HV4 are 3mm shorter than PT1

Japan has been racing 1/12th 2s for years and companies have battery packs that fit perfectly. Same dimensions as 1S.

Is this years X12 ‘21 going to be a copy of the Schumacher or Awesomatix? Their cars have been optimized about as good as the Racing Point F1 team this season.

I would not expect them to go fully out of their comfort zone. They will be slow to ease into any changes. Got to keep it premium after all :lol: lol.

I am eager to see the Awesomatix make a mass rollout in the hands of the average racer. Personally I am glad to see fresh takes on 1:12, last ones I saw were the Yokomo R12 when it first launched and the original S120.

New to 1/12 pan cars...I'm playing with a gear ratio calculator. What do I put for "Trans Ratio" seeing as it's just a spur and pinion? 1.00?

Yes, but...

Internal ratio is 1, but since foam tires can vary in diameter, rollout is what you need to gear toward, as it will take the tire diameter into account.

Rollout = ((tire diameter * pi)*pinion)/spur

So if you know the rollout you're looking for and trying to figure out which pinion to use, it's

Pinion = (Rollout * Spur) / (pi / tire diameter)

There's other rollout calculators online, or a spreadsheet is easy to make for your own use when you know what your targets are.

OK I think I'm on the right track then.

I'm told my track runs 43mm tires for longevity and shoots for a 85mm rollout for the track they use. Considering that I get the following;
