The only tires I have seen that could potentially be considered "too small" for asphalt 12th are the Gravitys. I believe they are roughly 43.5mm front, 44.5mm rear out of the box. Even so, that is a pretty good diameter for asphalt racing... unless we are talking about a parking lot track.

Thanks James, this is exactly what I was looking for.

Dan,
The current 12th scale classes run in the US at ROAR events(Carpet Nats), IIC, Birds, etc are as follows: 1) Stock - 17.5 non-timing 2) Superstock - 13.5 non-timing 3) Mod - open motor, open speedo If you are looking for info on what 12th class to run at CT's new track, I highly recommend staying with Stock/17.5. That is what the rest of state(Austin/Dallas) is running... and while 17.5 might have seemed slow at M&M or HT in Austin on the asphalt, Stock 12th is really a pretty dang fun class on a 90x40' rug. 13.5 will be too fast for the newbies just getting into the class... |

The Futaba BLS 651 servo appears to be discontinued, does anybody know what model replaced it?

The BLS153 is essentially the same servo with a standard case. Both are still on Futaba's web site.

Killer prices too. I guess I won't need my tire lathe... Anyone looking for a new Ofna Manual Tire Lathe, Ofna 1/12 Tire Arbor, and Mobgums Tire Arbor Support/Spacer? |

Believe me, you'll still need the lathe.
You just don't have as much foam on the table after you true them as you did before :) |

I run these tires and you do still need to true down the rears and round the corners on the fronts if you want to be at all competitive.

They are just gray versions of jacks white rims. Strong but flexible so they flex on a hit and don't shatter like crc rims. They run as true as any other 1/12 rim or jack wheel... Not perfect on every rim but close enough to be considered good.

Ok, looks like I may be stepping on toes here, and if I am I am sorry. Just wondering if anyone can help me with what servo is the best for racing these 12th scales, please?

And I see by your "stepping on toes" comment that you are grumpy :-) E |
