Default 1/12th Scale - CRC or Serpent

1/12th Scale Carpet Burner’... CRC or SERPENT

I know it is a lot of personal preference - but I’m a racer from 20+ years ago - and wanting to get back on the carpet and turning GOOD Solid laps - and ideally be competitive!!

HobbyTown said they could get both - but they said replacement parts for Serpent - I would have to go directly to Serpent for parts.

Advise!? Thank you in advance guys!

I race for CRC and parts are easy to get. the New Serpent (1/12th) is very nice - it has alot of the F1 set-up incorporated into this chassis. I do race for Serpent on the off-road side. Parts are easy to order Spares for the Serpent would be front A arms. I will see the Serpent team and owner tommorow and ask him what spares someone would need and get them.
If I was not driving for CRC I would drive the new Serpent 1/12th . Out of the two versions of the CK25 I've driven it on asphalt and carpet with the same chassis (No-flex). I would order the CRC 25 limited with all the goodies. I would just add one thing to the Ck25 (my LCG fan mount).

Your welcome. Purple is right on some aspects. Once my CRC is set It's set. The new serpent has the new F1 rear pod set-up which I like. The frontend has the upper A arms which in 1/12th might be a problem. But I run against the Serpent Team driver and he's got his car working very good in GT12. Like I said I'll see him tommorow and get somemore info about his car. But the CRC car is fairly bullet proof and parts are very easy to get- I usually have many spare parts with me for anyone needing them.
Actually just got off the phone with the Serpent driver: He has never driven a 1/12th car till 3 -4 months ago. He is very competitive in F1 and GT12. Besides adding a few shims for ackerman it's straight out of the box. Has not broken anything. the only spare part he would suggestion is the plastic lower piviot ball holder for the frontend.
Hee has raced his car both on carpet and asphalt. You can see the tracks we race on here in florida on facebook (The Ranch and Valkaria).

I wanted to give both sides. I've been with CRC many years and will continue. Frank and I go back along ways ( Class chargers). Bryan came later but is always helpful! As for shipping from either is fast.

I've also got one of those Class chargers from way back. Used to live in Rome and raced the same place w/Calandras. They were great chargers. I'm not the greatest driver but use the CRC and its about bulletproof.

Thanks Guys! CRC it is! 30 years ago I bought a Super cool Yokahama 10th scale 4WD/AWD chain driven car for Dirt oval - it was nice and unique.... and I did eventually get it to run pretty good - but yep only two of us had them and it just makes racing/fixing more dificult.

CRC it is!

THANKS!

Curious if you are referring to the legendary Yokomo RPS Dogfighter? I used one to win the only A Main of my life on an indoor carpet off-road track. It was right before the RC10 came out so I was racing against modified Tamiya sand scorchers and super champs. My car was so much faster than everything else that the club banned it the following week. Within a few weeks the RC10 would come out making all those high-dollar Tamiya cars obsolete overnight anyway
