Trying new setups tonight as well as sharing setups with the other Xrays.
That is awesome John!

Great job on leading the challenges.

The X10 is gaining momentum in Western Canada as well.

I have passed the info on to the X Gods to offer more tuning options in the near future

Take care and enjoy!

Korgae - thanks for the reply. I'm building a second car for World GT. A wider rear Body Mount should be easy as well as rear spring and rear shock spring selection. An optional wider front suspension plate (the CRC is adjustable), not fo 235, but to maximum 200mm Spec would also be useful. - John

Don't mention my name when doing so, they may not like me much

This car is great out of the box as I think I proved my first run with it at Lou's on Track #4, but we do need more options to get it to run with the CRC's.

Default Phase 2 - Project Wide X10

The X10 is a phenominal car in it's 200mm state but I wanted to see if I could take it a step further. I had a beautiful Hotbodies Toyota TS020 that is called a 235mm body but it isn't 235mm, at least not in the front and I wanted to base the new wider wheelbase on this body.

I created a new front mount that was 7mm wider on each side and then for stability I created a new rear body mount that was a full centimeter wider on both sides. With the addition of some IRS wide rear hubs and some spacers I managed to get the back of the car to 222mm and the front worked out at 215mm, so still not a full width car but well proportioned for the body I wanted to run.

I chose to paint the body as an homage to the great LeMans car from 2003 and I ran it this past Sunday, the morning the 2010 running of the 24 hours of LeMans was completed.

The car was stunning! 2/10 quicker than anyone else all day and easily quicker than the nitro field, and we have some pretty seriously talented nitro guys in our club. I may play with some spring combos this week but if I did nothing but clean it and run it for the rest of the season I'd put my money on this car being at the head of the field every week....

Thanks guys. The car runs as sweet as she looks! Had a perfect day today. Won all three qualifiers, took hot lap and won the A-Main. It just keeps getting better!

DekelzMan,
Good looking car!

What tires are you using?

and what spur/pinion combination is it?

I am still trying to find a good place gearing-wise on mine.

oh! and can I get the body somewhere? I can only find the Mulsanne body and it is usually sold out..

Thanks!

I do have a 235 Peugout lying around but it is very wide and I need to redo my X10 to fit it. Anyone know if I can use say CRC-widening kit for the rear? I need to get a widening kit made for the front....

Thanks man!

The pinion/spur is very much tied to the speed control/motor/track layout and even then there is no hard fast rule... Currently I'm running the Tekin RS Pro with the ver 200 software where my competitors are all running the ver 203 and we are all rolling out at completely different places, it's scary how different they are.. I think I'm gonna have to make the jump to 203 this week in preparation for our big SpeedWeekend in two weeks...

The body is no longer made unfortunately but you can find them from time to time on ebay and on here. It is for a wide car so you'll need to be making the mods whether you find one of these or run the Peugeot, which is also a great body, just not as pretty

The Mulsanne is a good body but has little front downforce so you need to find a solution for that.

Good luck and have fun!

Mick

Question for you guys - I'm going to be running WGT for the first time this coming indoor season and I was looking at the X-Ray for the 17.5 stock class. How well does the chassis work with a 1 cell lipo and what is used to stop the battery from sliding forward/backward?

There are battery holders that can be mounted forward or rearward for 1cell applications. There are also slots for tape for either position.

Thanks. By the way, what's good servo to run? I run a Futaba 9650 in my 12th scale, would this work well?

Yes, that servo will work. I think it will even fit with the pre-drilled servo mount holes...JR doesn't.

Fuzzy -

Isn't WGT 1s LiPo with 13.5 motors?
