That thing looks like a mean machine. Are DD cars coming back in popularity?

There are at least 4 of the new Xray X10s being prepared for SCAR Racing in Canada. The first shipment to arrive at Lou's Speedway SOLD OUT fast. Another shipment is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday but some are spoken for.

More SCAR information can be found at www.londonrc.com

SCAR 25.5 runs the Orion 2400 LIPO 2 Cell so the XRAY X10 is another great choice along with the CRC GenX10. Currently about 95% of the cars are CRC but the Xray X10s are becoming popular as well.

Xray needs to make a Wide Rear Brace with a selection of Body Mount Holes so Shorter Body Posts can be run.

Also a selection of stiffer Centre Shock Springs are needed ASAP.

I started campaigning the X10 Link a couple of weeks ago in my club's Pro10 class which allows 2 cell LiPo and 10.5 Brushless with GTP bodies. The bulk of the club runs 235mm cars as did I until this season. We have been contemplating running World GT for 2011 so I thought I'd try a new car for this season and start to get my feet wet with the new width cars.

As the car was designed for World GT I expected to make a few modifications as the weight and horsepower were quite different. Since XRAY has not yet released a selection of tuning options for the shocks and front springs, I opted to replace the shock with an HPI/Windtunnel Combo: http://www.windtunnelracingproducts....c35c8dc457ad45

The shock is longer than the stock unit so I needed to make some mods to the front ball location. Since I was not planning to run an antenna on the car I had the entire shock mount plate to play with. I drilled a few extra holes that would allow me to adjust the length for droop independently of the spring collar to allow real fine tuning options.

For the front springs I have prepped up a set of arms with long kingpins and a host of windtunnel springs but so far I have been running the stock Xray kingpins and stock springs.

Fully loaded, with body on, the car came in at 1008 grams so I had to add almost 200 gms to get it up to 1200 which is our class spec weight! I added some titanium plates to the battery slots in the chassis plus I added a few stick on lead weights just in front of the receiver to balance out the car left to right.

There is VERY little choice when it comes to GTP bodies for 200mm cars but our club managed to source out a body from ABC called the "Responce" and it seems to be working pretty well so far.

In the two weeks I've run the car I'm very happy to say it has pretty much dominated the field, even against the wider cars! The weather has been very changeable and we've had cool and windy and hot and sunny, and the car has worked equally well in both situations. The weather is supposed be questionable tomorrow as well but I'll report back with any new info.

I won't be racing next week so I'll have time to tackle Phase 2 which will be to turn this beast into a 235mm car where I'll have more selection of bodies to play with...

HI!
what gearing and pitch are you using?

What parts will you be using to convert it into a 235mm car?

Thanks!

Hi
I see that you have widened the rear body post fastener... what are the parts used to accomplish this?

Thanks!

Default first track outing with my X10

Hi
tonight I got my X10 link out on track for the first time.

As it was the first time I hade a few things coming loose such as the left rear axle clamp. When this happened the spur got beaten some... and after a few morre minutes I totally cleaned of all the tooth from my spur.
Back in the pits I noticed that my side damper was loose to!
So remember to tighten everything properly!

I now need to replace my spur and attach the damper (properly) and go through the rest of the screws for loose screws.......

so a 5 minute outing..a new record?
/Johnny
PS
any ideas as to what gearing I should shoose for a 5,5T brushless???
48P
64P
the straight is approx 30meters?

The lack of response from Xray with respect to this car is very disheartening. They've designed a great car, now they need to get some options out like springs and a wide body mount. Every other car they make has pages of option parts why not this car?

Seven Xray X10 Link Cars have been Sold in this area (London Ontario Canada) and will be running at Lou's Speedway. Will this be the largest gathering of XRAY X10 Link cars in North America, to date?? Perhaps.

We're racing again tonight against a field of CRC GenX10 Cars.

Trying new setups tonight as well as sharing setups with the other Xrays.
