I think you canīt compare with todays cars. The old HPI Pro1 and Pro2 were very good cars that time when they were released but there was very much development in the meantime. If you arenīt racing itīs still a good car but I doubt you will be fast enough if you wanna go competition. Cars that time had more drag in the drivetrain. Iīm not sure but I think the Pro1 had a gear drive for the rear drivetrain. This isnīt very free. Also suspension isnīt up to todays cars. But the Proīs shocks still are one of the best.
The Pro2 was a big improvement to the Pro1 and still is a good car. So overall maybe a 5-6 out of 10.

The other side is you will run into troubles regarding spares. I think HPI wonīt make any parts now maybe there are parts left.

Default Spares for RS4 Pro

I see spares everywhere for them...they're closely related to the RS4 Rally, Pro 2 and one of the gas cars...I was going to try building one from my Pro 2 spares...got a new main chassis for $20. I thought it was for Pro 2. DOH!

I just thought it would be cool to have a Pro, 2, 3 and 4.

i had a Pro 1 when i first started sedan...in my opinion i still think it can hang with the cars of today if the driver can drive it and set it up right....that was the "car to have" at my local track back in the day and we used very heavy oil for ozite carpet and rubber tires

Very true ! Okay, there's different level of competition, but I'm doing quite well with my almost stock Pro2 - beating TC3's, Yok SD, Tamiya Evo III...

I think I'll rate at 8, maybe 9. Basically, the XRay is running the very same design, just with a lot of refined details.
