Why isn't it fair to compare Tekin with others? There are several good ESCs on the market, but it took the last 4-5 years for most companies to catch up with Tekin's 90's technology. Even though the G- series speedos are a little out of date they can hang with anything on the market today. I have read alot of threads about the new super speedos burning up time and time again. It's funny that I don't hear many complaints about Tekin products. Team Tekin is currently producing the same G-10 Pro ESC that was designed in 1999 and they can't make them fast enough to satisfy customer demand. Old age means nothing when you're the best!

Default The history of speed controls

I have raced for too many years--my first 12th scale had a wiper
resistor ==I remeber the first leasure electronic speed controls.
I had one that worked when it wanted too.
My first orange speedo was ok,next few left a lot to be desired!
Than I discovered 'Tekin--and it was night and day different.
Performance of the 411 was outstanding ran several for years
even after Tekin went away--My bc112a was purchased as a
back up for my Victor Super IQ it worked great until I loaned it
to a friend who did not now + or -,it will be repaired soon.
My next speedo will be a G10Pro and can not wait.

Sure a happy to have Tekin back and they are even a neighbor.

Welcome back from The Big Sky Country of Montana.

Totally agree with tmeeks. I have both rapida pro and tekin G10 pro. But what I say is they are the same car with same engine but rapida pro has a lot more meters for monitoring and more turning parameter. Rapida pro is only slightly more powerfull then G-10. They perform almost the same and have simular characteristic such as no external part need, energy saving circult, and etc.

IMO, tekin did move far forward than most of the speed manufacturers

Welcome back from The Big Sky Country of Montana.
I wouldn't say "too many years". It's never too many!!!!!
I started the year the original RC-10 came out.

Speaking of Montana. I saw Stormer has the G-10 Pro and 112a in stock :

I saw the pic of g10 pro in previous post, the data port was exposed. Does anybody knows what does it used for??? Interestingly, this port was hidden at 1999. It seems that the new G-10 PRO will have some different in function with original or some functions was implemented at 1999 but not released??

Default TEKIN BC112A

I have a Tekin BC112A charger, software h27

I have a couple of questions:
firstly: is this mode compatible with charging NiMh batteries without damaging them?

secondly is there a way I can update the software to the latest version?

thanks in advance

I'm not sure about h27 software. There is a guy at our tracking still using h28 with NiMH.

I do know to get it updated contact Tekin at www.teamtekin.com
or right to here for services http://www.teamtekin.com/service_request.asp
I have the h31 software in my chargers.

Like JohnB said. If you send in your chargers they will update them to the H31 version of the software which is for the NiMH. I know some people are all about the Smallest speedo out there. But I will GLADLY sacrifice 1/8th of an inch to know that my speedo wont be burining in the middle of my run. I LOVE my TEKIN equipment. First big race of my year was in Louisiana at Red Stick Raceway. I TQ'ed both 2WD and Truck and Won Truck and finnished 2nd in Truck (Operator Error). My G10+ Speedo was VERY VERY smooth all the way around the track.

Hey Everyone...
I never noticed this thread and thought I'd add my 2 cents.... I've been running the G-10 speedo, bc112a charger, and reciever for about 6 months now and never been this fast in 1/12 stock. I used them at the US Indoorchamps and finished 4th in the "A-Main" in 1/12 stock class. I love the punchy feel and how the car will deaccellerate smoothly so the car rolls threw the turn.

Glad to see you found this thread. How about some insight on the settings you been using for 12th scale stock and mod (if they're different). That is truely the great thing about the G-10 is the adjustability.
Here's what I've been using:
12th Scale:
Throttle: 4
LIM2: 3

Mod Touring:
Throttle: 8
LIM2: Max
(yea, it's like a light switch but that thing RIPS out of the corner)

Hey JohnB...
For 1/12 stock:
THR: 6
LIM1: max
LIM2: max
For 1/12 mod:
THR: 4
LIM1: 4
LIM2: 6
I can't believe you're down to 3 on your LIM2 for 1/12!!! I like to have everything the motor has, then be easy with the throttle

Wayne,

Can you please post a picture of your car with the Tekin gear in it? I'm having trouble figuring how you fit a G-10 into a 12th scale car.

Just for run time. The cells I run for club racing don't have the best run time.

take care
