Back in the mid to later '90's Tekin's top guns were the G-9 and G-12cIII. In an effort to make things more compact and adjustable Tekin designed the G-10. The first generation used several large FETs in a laid down manner. Then, the G-10 Pro series was created. It utilized 20 very small surface mount transistors. Even though they have a lower current rating, they offer lighter weight and less resistance. The technology used in the G-9 was light years ahead of what everybody else was using when it was designed (maybe 1995 or so). It has most of the components on one board (bottom) and there is a second "floating" board that contains some type of capacitors that store and release energy when needed. Most people have long considered the G-9 (U-10) to be Tekin's best ever. It doesn't have the low on-resistance or adjustability of the G-10 series, but for all out horsepower and efficiency it's supposed to be tops. I have used the G-10, G-10 Pro and am currently running a G-9 (U-10). It does put the power down and utilizes every bit of available current from the battery pack. It seems to have full power until the last few seconds of a pack's life, unlike other ESCs that usually fade as time goes by. I've noticed that even with a stock motor that my pack and motor are much cooler with this ESC than others that I've used. Hope this helps!

2bad4all,

Thanks for the nice descriptive feedback on the G10 & G9.

So I take the G9 you have you like more than the G10?

It is funny how good OLD tech gets me excited more than the newer stuff....

So you guys that have both the G10 pro+ and the G9, which ESC do you like better and why? was thinking of buying a G9 for an offroad truck and was curious to find out your thoughts compairing the two ESC's.

Power wise they feel about the same to me. You have a lot more adjustability with the G-10's.

take care

Shane,

If you plan on running your truck on dirt then I would opt for the G10 due to the ability to tune it to track conditions. But, both are great speedos!

I hope this helps, Mike

I have no problem with the G10 pro +, I own 3 of them. I was just wondering what the differance is in the 2 on the track. I don't race dirt just play in it and thought maybe a G9 would be good to still turn some fast laps. I was just curious as i was thinking about just leaving the G10's for my touring cars.

Hey guys. I ran the new G11 at the Reedy Race this weekend and it was great. The adjustable frequencies let you tune it to the feel you like and it's super smooth just as you would expect from a Tekin. I was in the B-main in open mod but only because of a couple roll overs. The new speedo is awesome.
