I assume your talking about touring car by you signature?
What motor and surface?
On my touring car I run the limiter about 7 for mod and max for 19 turn and stock. 19 turn and mod my motors run right at 150-160* degrees when they come off track after 5 minutes. That's on carpet.
I'm probably to conservative on gearing and go pretty much by heat. In my mind for club racing there's no need to burn up motors and brushes for an extra .05 second per lap. Big races are different and you push for everything you can.

take care
john

JohnB - I TOTALLY agree with you on the club race scene. No sense in burning things up for a club race. I do ALOT of testing at club races and just want to see how different things are going to work or not work at big events so I dont have to waste time there. I would rather suck at a club race and be in the top 3 at a big event ANY day.

Default U-10 Anyone?

I bought a well used, but working U-10 (G-9) from a guy on eBay for $15 including shipping. He thought it was broken, but I found the problem, a broken switch wire. How did I do? It really works great. I know it's a little old, but still seem to be popular. Thanks for any input!

U-10? That's new one on me but I've been hearing all kinds of different ones lately. The G-9 is an awesome unit though. For $15 you can't beat that!!!! Good job.

2BAD4ALL - You made out like a bandit!!!

The G9 was Tekin's best speed control. In fact some still consider it to be the best speed control even when compared to the ones available now.

From what I've read the U-10 was the predecessor to the G-9. Same circuitry and performance, just a different label. I don't care if it's 8-9 years old, it still hauls butt. I have several good ESCs (Novak Cyclone '99, a Tekin G-10, G-10 Pro and a G-12cIII) and it seems to put the power down better than the others and even with a high resistance by today's standards (.0007) is seems to pull out every bit of juice from my packs. Even though it has a high frequency (17,000 hz) it has quite a bit of punch. I have always liked my G-10 Pro, but there's something about the U-10 that stands out. Maybe it's the price! HaHa!!! Thanks again for the input guys. Later!

Default TEKIN G9 and Service

I use the G9's as my best ESC's. I recently had some difficulties with several speed controls from different manufactures inclusing my G9's. All were used in my testing and experimentation but within spec limits of said speed controls. The LRP speed control had a total melt down and was not covered, the Tekin control developed BEC voltage control problems on one and another "smoked". Both were sent via RA #'s to Tekin for repair/service. Service turn around time was less than one week including shipping and the cost for non-warrantee work was very reasonable. I am impressed with the new owners interest, response, and vision as well as the excellent performance from their products. I currently own/use 3 ESC's, 4 Chargers, 3 receivers, and Dyno from Tekin and have other high quality products from many manufactures, so I have a broad spectrum of their products and their quality. WELL DONE TEKIN.

Agree. Tekin is doing a great job.

I sometimes feel like a free ad for Tekin, not that I am trying to sell their products for them, just have been happy with them.

Hope they have a new Esc or re-release of the G9 tech.

I have been hearing quite a bit about G9 tech and nothing about it being transferred into the G10. So one can only figure that the G10 is a little different.

Then again the G10 is 5 or more years old and I am sure they have something new brewing,....
