used med solaris with med inserts, track is indoor asphalt. tire is ok in the first 3 mins but overheated in the last 2 mins of the race. will using hard compound with same insert do the trick? used sorex 36's with med insert, all is okay. please wait 2 seconds for an uncompressed image, or press Ctrl+F5 for original quality page

At the Coliseum in Frederick MA I've raced with the hard premounts very successfully. I'd suggest u give them a try.

The Solaris spec tires will NOT be as fast as Sorex, but they are not designed to be.

A bunch of online retailers like nexus and speedtechrc have them for sale. You (or your local hobby store) can also get them from Top Racing USA.

Nexus and Speedtech don't sell the ones I need and TOP won't answer the phone.

EJ is at Roar Nats this week.

Try emailing Michael @ [email protected]

Solaris and Top are run by the same people.

At my local track we are just starting T.C. racing. The track is blown off, it is right next to offroad track, and prepped with soda. Here in El Paso it is starting to get a little chill compared to the rest of the year. We have tested with Sorex 36r and 32r and they worked good with the 32r wearing quicker. One other racer is going to Sweeps and I am going to try Solaris. Which compound should I try? We are looking to help other racers out by finding a good set of tires that work well and last for a while.

thanks

We run Solaris Hards as our spec tire here in Austin. Parking lot sprayed with grape soda. We run hards all year around.

It helped going to a hard spec tire at our track. Racing attendence is up because of it.

the only rule we have is 10.5 motor. Not really much else lol. How do the hards compare to 36r's. I was looking at the SPEC Medium tires.

The hards are 36 compound. They are a tick slower then the sweeps and Sorex tires.

I think the medium are 30 compound.

We like the solaris cause of the price and evens out the playing field.

Side question..... Do you guys allow boost (Tekin esc) at your track?

Yes we do. Not many rules. Just kinda going on previous experience. What about the Premium tires from solaris.
