i just recived a matrix TQx 2000 Stock Motor Version 7.5R motor from e-bay........when i got it i realized that besides the can color and the sticker it was just like another motor i have....a DR2...i don't remember who made it.........both are based on the epic stock motor......is there a real difference in the motors...beside one being a black chrome can and the other being a copper colored can....unfortually i can't try out them both b/c the DR2 is trash....first non kit motor and i didn't know about replacing brushs and cutting the comm

Matrix motors are 'Atlas' based and sold by 'Integy' in the USA.

Several of us (at our local track) have have ran them in the past and they can run good, but they are VERY picky about Brushes and Brush cuts. If you don't get it right it will be a dog.

Everyone I know has switched over to the Monster or Binary Stocks (EPIC based).

so are atlas motor epic based ..........the reason i ask is that the can on the matrix says epic 27 on the end of it.........anyhoo i got it for a good price but i will eventually go with the p2k2 or the monster stock

The can can say epic, however the arm is atlas.

ooooh ok so it might also have different windings too then.....i guess i get it now the can is almost like a standerd part everything else is different....i didn't pull the matrix apart yet but i did notice that the arms are different colors..........cool thanks
