What exactly is MCO?

Motor City Online.....was orginally part of the Need For Speed series of racing games, but they seperated it from the NFS name in case it failed....
It was massive online game like Everquest, but it was a virtual world of cars and racing...
It lasted for 2 years.....and even though it was making over 200k a month gross....EA claimed it was losing money, even though their detailed yearly audit showed it was making money. EA didn't like the finished product from the get go and did everything they could to indirectly kill it....and they succeeded....
Great game....sucks its gone.

I do believe that picture of Jared Scott aka "BQ" now qualifies him as the mascot and spokesman for all racers of Florida and the Florida State Series. I for one, am honored to have him as my representative!!!!

I'll second that.

I was reading through a "Big Jim" forum a little while ago and I came across this quote...
"Stock class on the National level is suppose to be for the rookies. Pros don't care about who's running stock. And neither does anybody else really"
Anyone agree with this? I sure dont.

Mod is where it is at in terms of a "high speed" racing class. The highest for of all racing formulas or categories are the fastest ones. Simple as that. IRL is fast but Formula 1 is fast in a straight line AND aroudn corners which is why Formula 1 is considered the pinacle of racing. This is where you get respect and props from.
With Mod you are showing your skills at setting up a high speed car, driving a high speed car and maintaining a high speed car.
At our local track it is all foam tire. You can build a box stock chassis slap some foams on it and have it handling very well with absolutely no setup in stock class. They drive easily around the corners, it is all about maintaining corner speed and consistent lines. And I am totally cool that type of racing it definately requires some skills. But with mod you have a motor that is well and truely capable of overpowering the chassis, this is where "true" all round driving skill is shown.
The part I dont agree with is "And neither does anybody else really" there are plenty of people who do care. But to get true recognition you must be prepared to go mod.
