Have a look on The M03-M05 thread from australia.

They have done in Victoria a Trailer race where every mini has a trailer behind it. Also they had a 500 lap enduro in 40 degrees Celsius.

There is a 1000 lap enduro coming up in March,

Mini's are good cheap fun and i know from racing in fields of 10 they are exciting to race close.

Grid the cars facing reverse.
Leave the radios on the driver's stand.
Drivers will then have a sprint race to the driver's stand.
And away they go, having to make a U-turn at the start.

I like the idea of figure 8

But if we really wanna think stupid, how about train racing? One mini in front, full control by one driver, a trailer in the middle, a mini with no motor and the front wheels locked straight, and a caboose mini, again fully controlled by another driver. Now you have to worry about setup on 3 cars!

Make it more like the real world, put 2x4s bottlenecks and turn it into a single file like a toll booth... 8 lanes into 1 lane put 5-6 around the track and if some one is having trouble getting through the cars behind him will "push" him and others through and then its a sprint to the next "toll" booth...
This is DICK!!! And you're NOT!

Have plastic "scoops" stuck to the front of the cars so when you approach someone you can flip them over you.
Or have scoops on the back, so someone coming up behind you doesn't pass, they go over

These were all actual races we tried indoors on carpet with a spec silver can Tamiya TT01 class several years ago:

BrokeBack Mountain 2 Men 1 Transmitter Race: Self explanatory - One guy steers the other is throttle/brake.

Blind Date Race: Transmitters are switched just before the race starts. The drivers turn their backs so they have no idea which car is theirs when the race starts. (Best used with a motocross start)

Lights Out Race: Turn out the lights and pilot your car around in the dark just using heatlights. Some guys just taped small flash lights to their cars.

Lemans Start: Line up the cars and put the transmitters on the drivers stand. When the race starts, drivers have to run across the track and pick up their transmitter and start driving.

Best Pit Crew: Start the race with the cars in pieces. At the tone the driver puts his car back together and puts it on the track. Guys who can wrench love this.

Moving Obstacle Course: I bought a 10-20 motorized stuffed animals and put them on the track to act like moving barriors. I foolishly believed that guys would try to avoid the obstacles and try to win the race. It wasnt long before the guys were pretending the animals were deer and well, you get the picture.

After a while all of the special races started to promote a lot wrecks and rough driving. So we then decided to try to clean up the racing by attatching a plastic golf ball to the roof of each car with velcro. The entry would be eliminated if the golf ball was knocked off by an impact with a barrior or another driver - kind of like the Pineapple race in Speed Racer. Unfortunately, this had the exact opposite effect. Once a few guys lost their golf balls they started hacking the guys with golf balls until ther was only one guy left who secretly attached his golf ball to his car with a nut and bolt. There were literally 9 cars trying to crush the last one left. We were reduced to hiding our cars behind the taller barriers and leaping out in a attempt to knock him out. I was laughing so hard I had to stop driving.

We ended they year with an all out anything goes endurance race including weapons and an obsticle course complete with jumps, cinder blocks and tunnels. Even trying this really depends on how much you can trust the other guys you're racing with. One guy actually put a metal spear on the front of his car. Admittedly, that was a little dangerous, but none of us who saw uit will ever forget that race.

Those were the days!
