Heres a quick board me and my dad made for me to work on when I am racing
I bought a sheet of plexiglass from Orchard Supply and Hardware(6.99 18 x 24) and some rivets.
Took us about 45min to cut, drill, and rivet. Let me know what you guys think

Thanks for the kind words.
I bought a single sheet 18 x 24 of plexiglass. Obviously its too big. So I split them in half and riveted them together.

Looks pretty cool. As long as it doesn't flex it should work fine.
I am using a 1/4" piece of Tempered Glass (rescued from our old Entertainment Center), with some 1/4" closed cell Foam on the bottom side for protection. Flat, true and basicly free
