ok this is from the small parts catalog...you can get one or look online at smallparts.com

zinc coated body clips part # B-HPC-23 $1.05 for 25 $2.95 for 100

stainless body clips part # B-200010 $6 for 25 and $19.65 for 100

stainless motor screws..im not sure exact size but i beleieve nominal is m4? should be 3mmX8mm...if so the part # is B-MSHCX-4-8 they are $1.90 for 25 and $6.25 for 100

E-Clips depending on what size you need range from $3-$4.20 for pack of 100

what size is the arm shaft in inches? use calipers and tell me exact... to the .000 and i can see what i can find

i only have a 20 dollar digital calaper but i measured 10 different from both reedy and trenity and i got .125 on all

Standard shaft size is 1/8" or .125"

You want the O.D. on the shims to be just slightly larger, this is to keep drag to a minimum.

the ones i have found are too thick and too big around....i havent looked in mcmaster though...

For teflon shims you can order sheets of teflon (in several different thickness') from McMaster and cut out the shims you want using a a hollow punch which can be purchased very inexpensively from Harbor Freight. For individual use this works great. Just cut the thickness shim as needed and maybe a few extra to put in the parts box. This is what I do.

Note that if you go too thin on the teflon they tend to get torn up. I try to go on the thick side with the teflon if possible. On the pinion side you need to have a metal shim between the teflon and the arm otherwise the hole in the teflon shim will be enlarged and it will ride up on the arm negating it's usefulness.

I would be interested where to buy the different thickness brass or SS washer shims used in motors. I have thought about buying SS shim stock and cutting them out, but you really need an punch press to do it right.

I originally bought sheets in 0.005", 0.010", 0.015" and 0.020" thickness'. I prefer using the 0.020" or 0.015" thickness when possible. I avoid using the 0.005". Only use one teflon washer per end and it should be against the bushing, make up any other difference with metal washers. Don't use the teflon washers with motors that have bearings.

I use a 1/4" hollow punch for the OD and a 1/8" hollow punch for the ID (Harbor Freight 9pc Hollow Punch Set 3838-1VGA). If I could find a metric set, I believe I'd prefer a 3mm size for the ID as it is just a little smaller.

Try www.smallparts.com they have shim stock as well as teflon washers for shims. They have alot of cool stuff check them out.

Am I one of the only people using a HUDY board and decal sheet? Nice boards BTW.. I do have a trick GFX with a window and neon inside the case. Price, 15 bucks for the neon and 5 dollars for the deans plug.
