Default Will 30 tires have enough grip for carpet?

Wondering if 30 tires are good enough for carpet or should I get 26 or 24's?

Thanks

It depends on your track conditions. Jaco blues are a 32 rating and seem to be a popular spec tire. Locally, Sorex 24s and CS22s perform better. Just have to see what the fast guys at your track are running.

Two Sundays ago I ran 32's on my 13.5 car, and they hooked up great. I had used 28's the first 2 rounds, then went to 32's for round 3 and the mains. The traction had come up just enough that the 32's felt as planted as the 28's did in the morning.

I had started out with 24's when I built the car, but I noticed that towards the end of the day the car was hard to drive. It wasn't traction rolling, but it felt like I was fighting the car because of the tires. I threw on the 28's I mentioned and it helped a lot, and the 32's even more so.

Hope this info helps!

If the track has a lot of groove they will be really good. If it is fresh carpet or a new track layout and there is no racing line yet you will probably be better off running something softer. The insert used in the tire and the wheel will have an effect as well. Basically you just don't want to have the tires so soft that they start to overheat 1/2 of the way into a run.

Have used Pre-built Sorex 32's on carpet before now with good results.

That's exactly what I was using Skiddins, straight-outta-the-bag Sorex 32's. Great tires!
