Well if its not under warrenty, you could just order a new screen. Integy sells them on their site. Ive read that the problem with the backlight isnt the screen, but there is a somewhat bad connection and it sort of comes apart over time and the back light goes on and off for a while and then off completely. I have yet to open mine up to make the connection better, because I don't want to void the warrenty. Mabey I'll call integy and ask. Someone said they called integy and they sent him a new screen free.

Default An experiment

In order to try lowering the temperature, when the packs peak, I tried this:

But actually, the peak temperature was increased with 5-10 degrees celsius. Seems to be time for a fan...

I just got this ac dc eagle cdc 6.0b 2nd hand for a good price. Reading through the manual is horrible. Worst manual!
What settings do you use for the ff:
gp3300
ib3600, 3800
nicd 2400,1700
8 cell nimh 1800
4 cell AAA nimh 900
I can't seem to be able to adjust temperature cut off. I think this has that feature but not sure.
What's a good delay time charge and delay time discharge setting? I'm assuming this is for cycling.
How useful are these fuzzy, partial and boost? I've been using normal so far. Thanks in advance for replies I know this is an old thread.

hey rayman,

I still have my cdc, like it alot. if it wasn't because of the icc, i wouldn't think of even selling it.

Temp cutoff is not adjustable. You can only adjust the voltage peak.
I use the partial mode for storage only.
Boosting, is sorta like re-peaking ur pack. If I charge my pack too early, and have let it sit for more than 30 minutes, i will use the boosting function to give my pack "punch" again.

I personally don't use fuzzy mode alot because I dump my pack. Even if I don't dump, i will batman and then tray my packs, so I will never have extra charge inside the pack.

For me, A good delay discharge time = the elapse time it takes for me to put the battery into the car and to begin the race (so when i cycle i get "better" information about my pack) I use 7 minutes typically.

A good charge time = when the pack is cool after the initial discharge cycle. I normally use 30 minutes.

I enjoy lots of punch, so I charge my gp3300s at 6amps. I use a 3mv/cell cutoff because this charger makes the cells quite hot! (60 degrees celcius), so no matter what I charge, I use the smallest mv/cell to avoid over heating my cells.

AAA nimh, I use 0.3-0.5A to charge them... I want them to last a while, so I try not to over charge...

Nicads I never charge over 5amps.

Hope this helps. These are my personal settings, urs may vary. Many factors need to be included, such as age of cells, brand name, matcher brand name, exterior charging conditions, assembly of cells, so bottom line, is that I can only give u "reasonable" charging numbers. the "best" charging numbers, u will have to experiment and find for yourself!

Good racing

Thanks for the detailed explanation rcnewb2004. I still dont quite get the delay timer. If I use a charged pack and dump it, should I connect it to the charger right away and use cycle mode and set it to 7 minutes delay discharge and then from that discharge point I would set the delay charge to 30 mins? Isn't the recommended cooling for batts more than an hour for cooling after use?
With this charger I did notice the batts were too hot when set to 4mv compared to my simple yet funtional pitbull. But the charge time is less. Haven't tried it with ib3800 yet. I'm assuming it would be very hot even if I set it to 3mv.

hey guys, anthor n00b here, wondering if any of you guys were using 3700mah packs, and if so what setting have you been using??

i've got a couple of packs of Peak Worlds Matched 3700 packs, and i'm a little worried about the heat after they've peaked(although i dont have a temp gun so i cant tell you how hot)

they've been peaking at just over 9v and 4000mah IR 28(although im not sure what the whole Internal Resistance thing is)

I'm racing Mod, which in New Zealand is limited to 12T, the packs still have loads left at the end of a race.

CDC isn't a step charger, try 3mV peak and 5.5A.

Ey, just got this myself a few weeks back as I posted here also and since then I've set my cdc as follows
for gp3300 5 amps 3mv
ib3800 6 amps 3mv
I notice that when charging less than 6 amps for ib's they really run flat. Even on my primary charger ce pitbull I charge them at 6 amps. The only thing I dont know is why this charger is picky in discharging. I can charge any pack but when discharging it doesn't. Too bad, the 20 amp discharge is useful to have included.

mayb it's my pack that's 2 old, IR reading at the end of the charging is 47 n the peak voltage is over 9.3
also...do integy make any optional temp probe for this charger?just wondering s it might b very useful 4 me

Hi, I got a Eagle Racing CDC6.0 ver and I am having some weird problems with it. Last night, I turn it on and cycle some of my batteries and it has been cycling and charging for the night. Now this morning during a race, the charger stops charging and discharging. The charger seems normal as the fans goes on when discharging, and everything is normal. Except that when I start charging or discharging a pack of battery, it just stays at 0 mah. I didnt feel the battery warming up during the 0mah charging, so I assume its not working. I am using Eagle Racing SHE 14A power supply if it matters. I have also try different batteries, trying different amps charging/ dischargering. It still doesnt work!!!

Is there anything I could do to fix it?
Thanks a lot!

same thing happened to my eagle cdc v6.0 i dont know how or why it happened because it was working normally before it did that. i had it sent back to the distributor (?) in HK, through our lhs. got it back after about a month. paid about $40.00 (im from the philippines and i think 50% of what i paid was for shipping.) it works fine now, 2 years and counting since the repair
