Default NEW MOTOR IDEAS

After my previous post, I have realized that I will be buying a new electric motor. It will be for a touring car. Track is carpet. I will be getting a 17.5T. I am running the Tekin RS ESC. I was leaning towards these:

Team Epic DUO 2 ROAR Spec Brushless Motor (17.5T)

Express Motorsports Zipper DUO 2 Brushless Motor (17.5T)

Trinity Nemesis ROAR Spec Brushless Motor (17.5T)

Hacker E40 17.5T Brushless Motor (ROAR Stock)

Any good or bad experience with these or any other ideas on motors are once again greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

As I advised you in your previous thread.. Check what other people on your local club are running, that's the most usefull. Otherwise I've seen combinations of the Tekin speedo with the LRP X12 motor and with the Speed Passion motor that were just insane. So you should also keep those in mind.

Duo2 or Tekin have done very well locally. I haven't heard anything good about the Nemesis 17.5. I do like the concept of the Novak Ballistic motors as well.

Thanks Rick. I am going to see what they are running. Just wanted to see what the world thought as well. Even though the LRP mishap was probably my fault, I kind of want to go in a new direction. Thanks again for you help.

I see a lot of the fast guys at my track run some Team Icon motors. They seem very quality from inspecting it and seeing them in action...

Not sure why but I like how the DUO looks, which means nothing with performance, but just a gut instinct. Keep bringing feedback. Thanks again.

Just stick with the Tekin ESC and go for the Tekin Redline motor and you won't do wrong.

Well the Duos are tried and true and run very well. Both the Duo 2s are essentially the same motor but I gotta put in a plug for eXpress...Tag's a great guy who runs a great company. My Duo2 this weekend was insane with the RS and got me to within a couple hundredths of the track record and the fastest I've ever gone on this track by 6 tenths! We had a Nemesis run yesterday...probably just bad luck but it only made 1 run and came off the track with a bent rotor. Haven't seen a Hacker ran in awhile so can't really comment on that.

Default Nemesis 17.5

I have been running the Nemesis 17.5 motor for the last few weeks and just set a track record with the motor in oval class locally.

They are very fast but have to be geared a bit different. When you find the sweet spot they are very fast.

Just my -98 cents worth.

Sweet looking motor, just the price is a little steep. I also like the motor connectors, that is nice and easy for swapping out.
