I haven't raced in a week. I only had time for a complete teardown/rebuild and tried some different things with the shocks & roll centers. Car is MONEY. These 13.5 Schuies are killing the 10.5 times though. On this particular layout, 10.5's easily overpower the track. 13.5's are deliciously more driveable.

Oh man, you must be joking... 10.5 OVERpowering something? At last race I had a dumping problem with 3.5 (old batts), so I tried a 5.5 sintered. Even that was boring as hell, you could eat a hamburger on every straight (although laptimes only dropped some 2 tenths on a 10 second lap). I can't imagine how 10.5 can be overpowered anywhere besides on ice.
I run on a 88' x 50' carpet track brah

I have a fairly good setup for 10.5 rubber/asphalt.I like the amount and sped of steering when using a thin front roll bar, but this is too much for the back end which likes to get out of line.
I only have around 85% steering travel to help stop the CVD's from binding.
Things calm down when I fit the 1.4mm roll bar but this reduces some of the steering.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what to look for/change to get me some of the steering back without compromising the back end?

Schueys new east Coast bodies
Just got the new bodies from Schumacher, the East Coast ones. I have to say i like them a lot. Here are a couple of photos of the new body. It comes with 3 wings also.
try moving the center track rod hole up one asuming you have it in the stock location to increase steering some.
The steering links are in the forward hole on the knuckle (but it did the same when they were 'swept back')

How much front droop are you running above ride height? That's the first thing I look at when I'm loose on power. If you don't have enough front droop, the suspension won't transfer any weight backward when you accelerate and the rear will step out. Try increasing front droop by 1-2mm above ride height.

I am so glad to see 99% of the racers out there love there MI3s'.I am going to run 13.5 brushless and have to roll out at about 45mm.What is the biggest 48P pinion I can fit.I used to run 21-24 and now it has to be high 30s.I am running foam on an outdoor track.

depends on the spur ur using. Are you runnig the 70t? If you run the 70t you can run a 25-30 tooth . . .

I'll try to add a bit more then.
I use the 'stepped' guages and dropped the wishbones from 5 to 4 (4 at the back as well).
Anything else to look at?

The way I look at it is weight transfer. If you're loose coming out on power there's one of two things happening (usually.) Either you're not transferring enough weight to the rear on acceleration and the rear tires are loosing grip, or you're transferring too much weight and it's lifting the inside rear tire and "diffing out" which will give you a sudden snap loose condition. This can be annoying because the first thing people do a lot of times for a loose out condition is to soften the rear, making it worse. Watch to see how much the car is rolling over on the outside rear. Or better yet, have someone else watch it while you drive. If the car is rolling excessively, you may be diffing out. You'll also hear people call it dumping over on the outside tire. That can be cured by taking some droop out (usually both front and rear equal amounts to make it transfer weight sideways less.) or a slightly heavier spring or swaybar. Maybe also try standing the rear shocks up one. I know it seems backwards, but sometimes a stiffer rear end can cure a snap loose condition by limiting the weight transfer and keeping it from dumping over.
? how big of a difference would a 2.5 chassis compared to the stock chassis on carpet and has anyone tryed both and found a speed difference or are the same
a huge difference, even at mikes. well worth the money. I ran Chris kern's mi3 out in east texas in stock and mine in 19 and i had to change the setup completely. even the carpet top deck helps. I have no hard times to give you. but I would probably guess, that there is very few if anyone that is running carpet foam with the standard chassis, so not sure how easy setups are to come by.

Some guys (Ahem) are running the carpet chassis even onrubber tire carpet.
I like being able to put the servo saver as low a possible. Car tweeks less, and is more consistant corner to corner.

There is no roll out charts for the Mi3 on gearchart.com.
Whats the transmission ratio for the Mi3 and where do you get your rollout charts from?
Also for running a 17.5 brushless, what pinion/spur combos are people running? For a range of tracks from smallish to large open types.
I here the rollouts need to be somewhere between 50-60mm for the 17.5.
