  • hey guys i had my first outing with ec on sunday and won but had a bit of a handling niggle that i would like to get sorted before the scottish gp in june. The back of the car is over rotating when i put the power down exiting some of the slower corners and just goin sideways i was wondering if anyone had any thaughts on how to solve this cheers, if theres anything you cant read on the setup sheet just ask

    In the mean time I would say you need 3 hole pistons, less static camber, more front and rear droop, the rear hinge pins could be lowered 1mm and the shocks could be stood up one hole all around.
  • Try standing the rear shocks up one position or raising the rear inner camber link to the high location.
  • What should I be running for a spur gear on a fast carpet track with rubber tires. I am running a 120 right now and almost 2 secs. off the pace. Would like 128 give me a little more speed?
  • The size of the spur doesn't really matter. It's the gear ratio. Also what motor are you running and what pinion are you running right now. 2 seconds off a 5 minute run or 2 seconds off per lap?

    I'm running a stock monster with a 30 tooth pinion. Between 1.5-2 seconds a lap. Most people are running the c027. Does that motor make a big difference?

  • Your gearing is just about right. You're at a 7.2 FDR and that's right about where stock motors need to be I believe. [(Spur/Pinion)*1.8= FDR] You're at least in the ball park. Not 2 seconds a lap off. So I don't think lack of speed is the problem. Just practice driving clean lines and staying off the dots and you'll be surprised how quick your lap times fall. More speed isn't usually the answer. Every time you run a car width wide in a corner, that's 1-2 tenths. Go way off line, there's .5 sec. Do that 2-3 times a lap, there's your 1.5-2 seconds. Keep those lines nice and tight and smooth, you'll pick up considerably. Then you can go for more rip.

  • once you clean your line up some you can gear the CO27 around 5.5 or so, just use a fan on the brush hood. The CO27's run cooler and have more tourque I think I was running a 30mm rollout at Horsham.

    How do you figure rollout on the ec? I have a book for the mi2 and really don't understand.

  • 5.5 RoadRash runs on a small to medium size indoor carpet track... We all ran in the 7.1 - 7.4 range this weekend at the Rubber Tire Nats at Trackside with CO27's. I think a 7.2 at Victory would be way too high for a Monster and probably too high for a CO27.

  • Oohh ok didnt relize he was on a small track. How big is trackside? I never thought of Horsham being that big but maybe it is....I think its like 55x95 but don't quote me
