As for parts, try Ebay, Stormer Hobbies, A Main Hobbies and of course Schumacher. Ebay definitely has them. Schumacher still has them. You can order direct from them.
All else fails, contact me. I have a boat load of MI2, MI3, 3.5,MI4 and MI4LP parts. Yeah....I like my Schumacher's !
Wonder where you got all them parts from? Some crazy man sold him a ton of parts.

Yes he did and 1 of them still has his name plastered across the front of it !!
How are you Steve ? All the MI2 stuff is still with me and I keep buying a bit more when I can. For VTA it's a great chassis.

That's awesome. The Mi2ec was a great car back in the day. I'm glad they are treating you good.

If I bought a Mi1, could I upgrade a lot of the car with MI4cx parts? Would most of it be compatible or are there a lot of parts that are not interchangeable?
Thanks in advance.

I was really surprised that my mi2 was doing really well on our parking lot practice this past weekend and I was even more surprised I was able to drive it as good hahah. only issue before practice was the pin the holds the layshaft onto the spur kept falling out, so I just covered the holes with sole heat shrink and solved the issue. man I hope I can keep up with these newer chassis's this coming weekend for our parking lot race here in sd.

Not likely. Remember, you're talking about 2 very different cars. The MI1 is basically the old "Mission" from 10 years back. Any parts from the Mi4 that could be used would most likely be of little upgrade value. Those kind of parts would be screws, spacers, etc. Critical parts like main suspension arms won't interchange.
That being said, the MI1 can be upgraded with alloy parts and "speed secret" items that will make it pretty competitive but it simply does not have the adjustability of a top level car like the MI4.

Thanks for the info. Care to elaborate on "speed secret" parts?

^ speed secret are just hop-ups from Schumacher, ie aluminum toe pivots etc. you can actually see them on schumachers website or amainhobbies has the hop-ups as well listed for the MI1.

that's funny, I too started gathering parts to ressuscitate an Mi2 recently. A friend of mine gave it to me a few years back as a bunch of parts. I haven't really done anything yet, just a blank build to see what I wanted to do.

It is indeed tempting to put on a thin and narrow chassis without the slots... I also considered cutting some center sections of the top plate but I'm not sure which would be best. Anyway it will be fun ! 11x2 reedy here I come !

The shocks are awful though, no wonder why they changed it on the EC version.

Please post pics when you are done ! Or even if you're not. Just put pics ! haha

The bmi chassis is narrow compared to the stock version, I added lipo tray and I'm definitely changing the shocks lol.

That is NICE !

I didn't know BMI did a chassis for the car. Funny how old SSG can look in 2012. Isn't the car super stiff with such a wide top plate ?
