stlnlst, i give big props to scotty..his car was wonderfull, and his driving magnificant....however, i do have a small question that i ask myself,,
his motor had the purple metal ring removed, AND it had a large vent cut out on the endbell, BOTH of which would have made the motor illegal for use at the reedy. would he have had the same times? would he have won without the illegal motor???,, it could be,,,or not..... but i do agree, his car was wonderfull

Those changes only change the looks and improve cooling. If he was fast he would have been just as fast with any other motor.

The stock Mi2EC arms are C/F arms. The stock Mi3 arms are also C/F and are similar but are reinforced with added material and have the new Mi3 sway bar ball stud hole.

The Med flex arms are not C/F but use glass fibers in a lower percentage relative to the base plastic material.

In PW's first setup he used original Mi2 (not EC) arms that are no longer available. He drilled holes for the sway bar ball studs. These were glass filled but had a higher glass to plastic ratio than the Med flex arms. Like Marco said eventually to the Med arms and they were even better.

stlnlst, i agree, he was very fast. if he drives that way at the reedy he will more than likely be in the main....and he certainly deserves it.

There isn't such thing as an Mi2EC arm? The Mi2 and the EC had the same arms, so if you want to get the C/F arms it will be labeled under Mi2?

Also the Mi2 C/F arms are a thinner mould at the end (where you insert the pin shaft thing ) so it is marginally lighter once you replace all four arms with the Mi2 versions.

Mi2 kit was supplied with std plastic arms - with C/F released as an option. EC kit was supplied with the option C/F arms in the box.

The EC C/F arms are ~ 1.5 - 2g lighter per arm than the std Mi3 arm. You then need more wheelbase spacers, so probably not much in it weight wise at the end of the day.

I tested all weekend and ended up with a good setup for the car and the speed passion gt. It was a good weekend and hope to do the same for reedy.

I want to thank Allen for the setup that I was able to steel from his car...much better than the one I was using. If there is anything I can do to help you out at the Reedy (or any other Schumacher drivers who are planning to attend), feel free to ask!
