I've talked to Macro eariler...sometime, he even go to the HIGH 3...by looking at the gear chart...to get to 4.5, we need 114/45...I know Mi3 RDX @ our local track run the low 4 (low...)...that means we need 46-50 pinion..not just those are hard to get (tower is back order 46 adn 47...HPI has a 50)...but I doubt the motor mount will allow us to mount a 50 with 114.

Adam.........bring that 96T back in stock FASTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.....

114 in 13.5BL will be close and possibly no. The track I run at is about the same size at Trackside...if you are going to Novak.

I can tell you that running about 4.8 or so is not bad there. But I ran 4.2 like some other guys and the 13.5 Mi3 was stupiddy fast. Just depends on a few things if the GTB gets too hot...

If you are smooth, never brake or just have super fans I know you can run 4.2 or so for 5 minutes without thermaling.

===

Not the best video but here is a vid from Trackside 04Dec. Guys are running mostly 13.5s.

I'll be at Trackside this month to see if my car and gearing works there. I also plan to be at the New Years Day race. If anything I can give you guys a baseline of what I run there to maybe get you ready for Novak.

I'm still on the fence for the actual Novak Race.

i run 48 pitch now,but you should be able to get in to the 4's with the 114 spur, i can get in the mid 4's with the 85 spur (48 pitch) low 4's and high 3's if i mod the motor mount a little bit

with the Novak race being full brushless and pretty much all over the country it's pretty much safe to to say that BL is now the primary means of racing

Can we expect a new drive ratio to fit in the current car so we can stop using pinions the size of a silver dollar

Okay. I only asked cuz usually they don't have touring oval classes at the nats other than the birds.

Are you guys gonna run it normal or design a oval chassis for it?

The design of the car allows 160T total between the spur and pinion. For example a 118/42 will be the max combo with a 118T spur.

or...a 96/64
