I run the car with a spool. I just have to decrease the steering throw to about 85% just enough so that the steering knuckles will not hit the front C-hub on full lock. But I add .5mm inboard toe out up front to compensate with decrease steering throw. Car felt good all day no chatters on full lock.

I also did some testing running 4.5 brushless with 5 cells early in the moring and damn car flies my gearing is about 7.1-7.3 but the track is not good enough to run mod traction is a bit off.

I also notice with 5 cells the car reacts faster on corners and have tons of corner speed this by running batteries up front.

have you tried it? when you screw more into the ball grippa - that does nothing to where the shaft lies in the shock body. it just shortens the shaft - therefore shortening the shock - and hopefully that will get you to where you want to go.

i could be wrong....where is Kerr when you need'em.....

My shock length is 59.5 with Assoc. spring perches; ride height is 4.5mm all around. Big Parma wheels at 60mm and have no problem reaching 3.5mm ride height (not that I would want to) if needed.....

Randy

At all big races there seems to be a split in 1way and spool

i think its down to style and feel

it also depends on traction

did you try that set up i sent randy?

Thanks Jimmy

I'll have to try it. It could have something to do with the amount of roll center shims and the shock tower positions too I suppose.

Was that with the lowered f. shock tower JB?

Am I missing something, or does the lowered tower have to be used with 58 mm tires?? Anyone else run into this? I am using xray springs.
no flack, but i'll reitterate. the ae perches are needed with the low tower for almost any springs. no big deal. but if you choose to use xray springs (or any others over 25mm), you'll need to cut down the ball end by 1mm (~0.040"). any further and the ae perch will be resting on the supension arm and could cause a tweak on the track. in this case, as the suspension arm compresses, the perch falls back down onto the ball cup where it belongs, so setting tweak in the first place will be rough. if you cut too much from the ball cup, you can aways put them back on with a motor shim. just make sure the perch doesn't rest on the arm.
