Doh! I forgot to add that that the requested roll-outs/settings for myself are for 1/12th on the rug...

Thanks,

I'm looking for the manual to the #80910 speed control; don't see this ESC listed on their web site anymore.

Thanks,
Jeff Smith

I tried my Stock Spec and X12 (13.5t) outdoors today for the first time. I started at 6.0fdr and 0,6,3,0 and it lacked top end and punch infield so geared down to 6.74 which was better and then down to 7.04 and 0,6,7,0. The track has a long straight 45m and the rest is quite open and fast flowing with one chicane. My car is quite quick down the straight but feels too punchy infield for me.

Do I gear up and reduce boost to keep the temp down or just reduce 'Feel' ?

I need to keep the speed for the straight and also quick infield but not too punchy as I just miss the corners then

I think it needs a little more top end as geared at 7.04 and high boost it dose sound like it's really revving up on the straight, temps are high 70's without a fan.

Thanks.

I'm curious I thinking of getting the new Sxx V2 comp esc when it comes out, I would be using it in oval racing with a 10th scale chassis, using novak 17.5 and 13.5 motors. Would the ae guys think it will be competetive with the Tekins, Mambas, Novaks. I ran the SPX last winter in the car and liked it. What would be the consensus for using this esc in 1c oval racing? What kind of software will be available? Thanks Jason

I have been waiting on a SXX Stock spec Version 2, but LRP do not seem to be in a hurry.... anybody know if and when it is coming.... or I should just go and get a Mk3 version 1??

Do the Mk3's seem to run better with the x-12 17.5 or any 17.5 seems to be fine with the Mk3's

We run on a 90 x 40 size carpet. Laptimes are in the 10 to 11 second range. I have approached this two different ways.

X-12 17.5 set with 4 dot timing shim. Speedcontrol set at 1,5,10,0. Rollout at 3.5 inches. Lost a few feet down the long straight. Laptimes with the fastest. Lost main by .2 seconds. Fast lap was almost full .2 seconds off the fastest. Did not fall off and gained 2 seconds on leader in last 3 laps.

X-12 17.5 set with 3 dot timing shim. Speedcontrol set at 1,5,6.0. Rollout at 3.5 inches. Set fastest lap in main and won. Lost a few feet down the long straight. Very good rip through the infield. Faded slightly in the last 3 minutes.

Overall impression is that higher rollouts are in the cards for either of these setups. Did not feel boost kick in for either. The 3 dot timing for the motor yielded strong performance in sweeper type corners. The first 50 feet of the straight was outstanding. Throttling was smooth and linear. Very race-able.

More later.

I'm afraid I'm sorry to say I sold my sxx ss today! R. I. P
I have been trying very very hard at my 3 local m/l indoor carpet tracks now for about a year with my sxx ss mkII and I have a mkIII as well, a lot of open practise I do, sometimes 11-6 on Saturdays and I find it far far to harsh on corner exit, way to aggressive!! I thought I'd just try another speedo in my car, just to rule it out of my head and first go, first heat with a speedo iv never driven ever before I beat my fastest time straight away and improved on that every heat. No brainer, sxx gone

Ran the x12 17.5 in my 1/12 scale for the couple of race nights now, so I thought I'd post what I found to work best, 80x36 flowing carpet layout.

Tried a combination of just about everything: motor timing 4-dot/3-dot/2-dot, boost 6 through 10, rollout 72 to 85mm.
Settled on the 2-dot motor timing, 0-6-8-0 with 76mm rollout.
Higher rollouts made the powerband way too flat with no punch in the infield and the motor not winding out on the straight either.
The 4-dot timing works well in 2S Lipo TC, but it seems to detune the motor too much for 1S lipo. The 2-dot seems to wake it up... I might try 1 or 0 dot next time.

Zipping it around the basement with an LRP x12 13.5 didn't show any signs of cogging, a combination which was problematic in the past. We'll see how it goes on the track.

They have put the SXX Stock Spec in their Archive... so I'm guessing it should be soon. They need to do something big, as in 17.5 open, they are getting their butts handed to them by the other big speedie companies.

The SXX TC Spec V.2 is awesome in MOD Touring...But when running back to back Tekin and LRP there is a clear power difference.

It would be awesome if they had the power of some other brands. Looking to get one to try for 10.5 Spec and up.
