Yes! There will be no need for a booster or receiver pack when using 3.7v...

Also, your spec motors will go faster than with your SPX...

Hi,
I need advice before I return my SXX StockSpec back to LRP for repair
Just purchased and installed my StockSpec with a X12 13.5. When bench testing with no pinion connected, seems like the motor has interference and 'splutters' through the rev range to full power. Tried a SP 13.5 V3 motor and the same happened. Sorry to say, but reconnected by existing ESC and the motor ripped !

I've heard of the issues with the 1st batch (which seems I may have ) but I've also heard that this may be the normal charactoristics of the StockSpec when running the motor with no load.

If anyone has had the same experience or can shine any light on what the exact production issue is on the first batch released, then it will help me understand if my ESC is faulty or just how it is ?

Cheers,
Jason

Mine did same thing - returned it to shop after 2 qualifiers. I was later told that there was issue with installing firmware (can't say it's right reason or not).

I've got about 8 packs through mine with zero issues, I guess I got lucky (had to happen sooner or later)?

Here are two posts dealing with 17.5 and 13.5 settings.

As a side note, I notice if I do a "white trash tire wipe" (I.e. hold the car on the carpet and pull the trigger) it will stop after a few seconds almost as if there are some "don't be stupid" fail-safes built in.... I wonder if some of the bench free-wheeling is triggering these as well? Or perhaps I have just discovered another defect?

And just for the record, my gear is; Airtronics FHSS-3 receiver with an Airtronics 94746M Digital servo, and X-12 motor (I know some Tekin guys are having fits with certain gear combinations).

in 13.5 world gt i ran 33/88 with a 2.08 tire . Settings were feel 10 boost 7 , I ran the x12 13,5 with 4 dot timing.

Hope this helps

in 10.5 i ran 32/88 with a 1.70 tire settings where feel 7 boost 6 and i ran the x12 10.5 motor with 4 dot timing.

It is called feel and Boost. The feel is the initial throttle and has a value of 1-10 and the boost is the timing advance. It also go's from 1-10 . I personally like between 6 and 8 for the boost and 7 -10 for the feel. I am still learning gearing and stuff . It is all push button like the other LRP speedcontrols.
