But hey, you forgot the SUPREME form of racing where Americans dominate - NASCAR (of course I'm being sarcastic)

But as far as R/C...They are 5 or so manufacturers with cars that could be deemed as "World's Best"...And I'm pretty sure everyone in the thread has already expressed that All I gotta say is I drive one of them and I'm loving every minute of it

This is getting a little crazy. What does it really matter where the best drivers are from. We all do this because we like to race and have fun. I don't care if the best driver is from Mars and drives a who knows. It just doesn't matter! This is a hobby, it is just for fun and to have bragging rights over your buddies. I bet if you talked to the top drivers and asked their opinion they would not care where the drivers are from as long as they are still having fun! Remember that word FUN, don't get so carried away that you take all the fun out of this hobby!

Just my 2Cents!

Red face

The best drivers are humans, from the planet Earth. Drivers from Venus suck, and martians are just OK. The best cars are also made by humans. Don't get me started on cars from Pluto

Default Guys wait!

Cut the squabblings about your best drivers. Best drivers or not? I'd go side by side with 21 year old Surikarn Chaidajuria. He drove his TRF 414 superbly in his past 2 races. World Champs!! Move aside! This is one hell of a Thai driver who could just be another Tiger Woods in r/c history!!! Watch your back!

You know it is funny that this turned into who can PEE further than the other guy. There are about 25 "elite" racers in this world roughly 60% of them are from the states. It doesnt have anything to do with americans being better than the other folks it has to do with the popularity of a hobby in a given country and the proximety(sp?) of the Local Race Track!!!! Anywho. just had to get that out. There are really too many variables to get a definite answer on which is the best car. Are we talking about racing on carpet, asphalt, pavement, or parking lots? Are we talking about right out of the box with no hop-ups or every single hop-up available? Some cars wont really work without hop-ups(XXXS, PRO3)so I think this thread should be put out to pasture because it has morphed too far away from what it is supposed to be.

OK here's my input:

Every single racer has a personnal driving style, which mean every car will suit a different person better.

The top cars in the world are: (in no particular order)

Losi XXX-S
Associated TC3
Schumacher Mission
Atlas YM34T
X-RAY T1
Tamiya TA04-R
Tamiya TB-evo
Tamiya 414M
Corally C4.1
HPI Pro3
Yokomo Mr4 series (pro/special/all the editions...LOL)

Which one is the best.... depends on you!!!

Does it matter which pro driver drives which pro car?.... for benchtop racing maybe, but none of us race our PC...yet...LOL

Foamdonuts- what is that hop-up that in necessary for the XXX-s?? I have been racing with mine for a month now and wanna know what I am missing out on.

Proper inserts and tires don't count, cause all cars work tons better with the right inserts and tires. LOL J/K

impact,
the hop-ups that are needed(from what I and others have experienced)are the short shocks for the front of the car, and then if you want to stiffen the car up you can get the graphite conversion kit. The only really "needed" hop-up is the short shocks and shafts in the front.

CRASH: sorry man, "FUN" has left the building and took the word "hobby" with it!

Its just not about "FUN" anymore, at least not on the message boards. I think most of us forget all this nonsense once we get to the track, but we can't be at the track all the time. So in the mean time, some people talk trash to pass the time and other take this stuff waaaay too seriously.

Who cares where most of the drivers are from? Who cares who the best drivers are? Do any of us win anything special if someone who drives the same car as we do, happens to win big! I don't think so! At least last time I checked we don't. So whats the big deal?

I haven't followed this thread very closely so I don't even know how the topic turned away from the original theme.

But, on the topic of that theme, I still say that "the best TC is the one that crosses the line first on that particular day"

The best part about this "HOBBY" is that you get a chance to change that result the very next weekend or at the next big event.
