I use the LRP 5300mah 28C and it fits in my Xray T2 '009 without the LiPo pads with the bumps on the battery turning upwards.

The problem is ALMOST. Almost is only acceptable when playing horse shoes. . JK... but seriously, I notice more punch with my 50C batteries than I did my IP 3800 w/28c . Its the "almost" that makes the higher C rated batteries a little faster. That "almost" could mean the between 10.3 and 10.9 lap times. and over the course of a race.... could mean alot more than that.

Plus it just sounds better too. ... 50c

IMO If your using a soft flex setting you need the lipo pads. Even with some Ip3800 35c packs the deck was fouling my lipos and causing uneven tweak. I now have the lipo pads and the xray weights with some SMC 40c packs and they work great. I don't think moving the top deck up the amount the pads do will affect the handling like you think it will.
