Yeah, the hard ones to get are the upper caps. I could always just cut the rears, but that would not be the same. I'll work on that mod later on. But first, I wanna try this other one...

Nothing special, it's been done before. Dual link steering like the new X1.

I see that some of you guys are trying to make the rear of your car like the Tamiya...? I don't really understand the purpose for this. What are you guys trying to do by making this mod...?

Less flex in the rear shock tower so better responce in changes on the shocks and springs.
At least that is my reason that i changed it.
Look at the new sakura.
It got it the same way

Have a look at the New Sakura X1 ..... shock tower on top.

Originally I believe that the tower at the rear was designed to allow more rear flex and therefore more rear grip

However the narrow rear arms has helped a lot with rear grip so the shock tower can go back on top away from risk of damage

I think I will wait for the X1 to come out for my first car in ages cant wait. Dam VRC pro got me hooked again.

Its going to be a whole new learning curve with lipo's, brushless and new car only think I think will be used from my old car is the JR R1 radio.

I think whoever I order it all through will be one happy camper

Is there a band of tyres that works best with sakura's and what shell should I go for as I will be racing outdoors on a medium sized tracks?

I still have to work out what brand of motor esc to go for

For tires you can use the Sorex 32R and 36R or the Ride tires.
Ride should perform the same as the Sorex.
The Take off CS27 or higher work also very good.
Body, the Mazda 6 or speed and also the LCTR or Dodge Stratos work.
It depends a bit on what you like
ESC and motor..Well there we can start a topic on it's own
I use the Tekin RS/RS PRO ESC and the LRP X12 and Speedpassion V3 motors
But hey that is me

regards Roy

I've ran my car with the 416 rear towers since I first built it back in May 2010. I didn't trust the stock tower being able to withstand a hard hit. It's been great and I haven't had any issues with rear traction that way.

1st built

Most current pic I have (2/11/2011):

I don't know guys, I've always wanted more rear traction with my car in stock form. By making the rear stiffer I don't see how it's going to help...
