I tested the new Sakura gear diff today. The package includes everything you need like 2x Diff bearings, Spacers, 37t and 38t pulleys, 3.5mm drive shaft blades and Diff oil (which I don't know the viscosity ie No Label) The build quality is very good, it has rubber gasket instead of paper like Spec R. However initially the outdrives are a bit sticky (coz the housing are very tight). I used 600 Mugen oil instead of the included one. Testing on the track, initially I felt the rear end wanted to step out when I apply aggressive out of corner throttle ( I do expect this to happen coz the diff is still a bit tight). After a few runs the diff smooth out and this improves the handling, no more nervous rear end. Upon inspection today I can see no leak and I overall I m happy with it.

Tip: Spread some light grease on the outdrive shafts during building, this helps it to smooth it out.

Who's got the narrow chassis? And what are your opinions of it so far? I just tried ordering one from RCMarket and they are sold out! Had to preorder from them. Hopefully it won't take too long before they get more in stock.

I received the chassis this week, but have been sick and have not built it up yet. Initial thoughts its VERY narrow, cutouts are all very neat, initially it feels very flexy, but wont know until its all bolted together.

I recieve mine today, i will test it out this weekend hopefully. At 83mm in width its super skinny .

On other news. . .

I managed to drive the Sakura to 2nd place 17.5 finish at the South Australia State Titles over the weekend in Adelaide. The car performed flawlessly once i had the speedy and motor combo sorted. I will have a set up to attached tonight.

Congrats Alex, I saw your name in 2nd place and was wondering if you ran the pink car.
They can definitely run with ANYTHING else on the market.

Hi All,

I've been monitoring this site and I've noticed there are some very successful racers winning with this car. Congrats to all. I have some question;

1. How good is this car straight out from the box ?
2. What other parts that I must hop up in order to get it more competitive?
3. What spares (must have)I'll need to keep so it don't disrupt my practices and
race ? (Hopefully to order all so don't need to pay extra shipping later).

Tks.

Out of the box the car is good, but to make it great i advise to get either the narrow rear blocks or the 4mm wheels hexes for the rear to narrow it. This option is a must IMO, makes the car so much easirer to drive.

In terms of parts the car is SOLID, ive taken hits and havnt broken much parts at all. I suggest you buy the steel front unis and the normal spares.

- Hubs
- Arms
- Belts

I will post up my set up from the weekend shortly.

Default Narrow Chassis

Put mine together last night and will hopefully go out tomorrow, as said it is very narrow and flexes a bit, my servo is not low profile and hangs over a fair bit also. The car looks good and i still had enough room for all the radio gear.

kid TT-01, how wide are you running your car front and rear? Stock my car feels good but I do think with a more flexable chassis I would get more mechanical grip. I run on a parking lot track with med to low grip so the car is not as planted as I would like.

Has anyone tried this car on carpet? What are your thoughts...?
