tips for better bearing performance?
are all bearings equal??
metal shielded... teflon shielded... in the end do they perform the same?
with the tc3, the factory kit comes with bearings different than the racer kit (metal shielded)... do they have less friction, or just last longer?
grease or oil??
all opinions appreciated

No, not all bearings are the same! In my experience, you can buy a set or bearings for $20.00 but you will be replacing them constantly and they will not be as smooth.
In my opinion, the teflon sheilded bearings that come with the factory team tc3 are as good as any other bearing you can get other than the Acer ceramics. Their sheilds do not pop off like other teflon sheilded bearings and they keep a lot of dirt/carpet out of the bearing. Only rarely will you have to take the shield off to clean them. Just spray them out with motor cleaner, let them dry and lube them lightly with the new Acer bearing oil.

If u want better performance, take out the bearing seal. It' better because it gives less drag but u hav to clean it more often.. But it's worth doing it. And oil up your bearings to run smoothly. Also, when cleaning your bearings, clean ur bearings with motor spary. When doing this, place the covor under the bearing. Use the straw that come with it and blast away the dirt. Or u could fill up the little cap with motor spary, and dunp your bearings in there, give it a little shake, and wala. Clean bearings.
