Default Whats the best class for a beginner for on-road??

I have been into off-road for about 3 years now am looking at getting into on-road racing. With my experience in off-road i thought that im probably good enough to be in the VTA class. Was wondering what car will be competetive in this class? What motor should you run? And just the basic information on the class.

Thanks Ryan

see whats popular at ur track. no sense gettin into a 'class' if its light on turnout or inconsistant in terms of #s. some derivative of 17.5 (stock) touring. unless 12 scale tickles ur pickle.

Default vta

Vta has seem to gain popularity lately. I run a tc3 with the novak 21.5 ss setup I can actually hang if not beat the touring cars at the track. Its all about driving skill

The best advice is to go to your local on-road track--and see what class's their running there. If they have a SPEC class --what ever it is--that's usually the best to start in--you'll know quickly the correct setup--motor and tires you'll need without a huge investment. Then--get your feet wet and see where you want to go from there.
In the west--F-1 Tamiya cars are making a comeback--and you can pick them up CHEAP--the class runs the stock silver can $8 motor--and tires last several races. Not a bad way to start either.

if they have a VTA class...TC3 is the best car for this class...mine put a 'whooping' on some Xray 006,07,08,09's...some Team Magic cars, some TC5,4's...and a couple of Hpi Sprint 2's....lol...just get whatever your track/lhs has parts for and have alot of fun running VTA

If I were to do it all over again, I'd be racing F1. Easy on the wallet and easy to set up. Some might say it is easier to drive.

If you are dead set on VTA, I recommend w/e car you lhs supports best.
