And at the new price, Gripper should be renamed "Jack the Reamer"

At this point all the traction compounds are working strictly off their solvent properties, so in theory a compound with slightly less traction, should be better for the carpet. (solvent action is less powerful). We'll find out after Snowbirds, that race has more laps turned than most club tracks do in a season.

How much are the cans of Jack now? I haven't bought one since last year.

While we're on the subject of traction compound, what's the shelf life of Paragon and Jack?

Exactly! Paragon provides tons of traction, is readily available and reasonably priced. So it stinks a little bit... Jack don't smell all that great, don't grip all that great either, it's hard as hell to find and expensive when you do find it! What's to love about it???

I agree bring back the paragon it doesn't smell near as bad as the diesel I use to put on my off-road tires. HAHA

I like Paragon myself but I could understand a track with a hobby shop not wanting to use it. While we are all use to the smell it is a big turn-off to the general public (and some racers). Plus it seems most major carpet races are moving away from Paragon so it isn't good practice for big races.
