Default WHAT CLASSES SHOULD RUN IN MAJOR RACES FOR 2010

I know this is like gasoline and fire, But I was looking into starting a thread that can pro-active, in introducing new ideas that may be presented to the bigger promoters.

example # of classes

tires?

motors?

esc?.......no, wait a minute, wee won't go there lol

I believe in doing this we can have a thread that can be helpful, rather then commenting off a Major Race thread.

So with that, let the flood gates open.......

12th 17.5 stock/mod
WGT 17.5 stock/13.5 SS
TC rubber 13.5 stock/mod

The TC end of this industry needs a class in the KISS factor!

If it's to slow for you, run mod!

Is WGT really that big that it requires two classes? Just curious because it is not very big in this area that I have seen.

Rubber TC stock should be 17.5 and not 13.5 IMO. Esp with as fast as things are getting these days.

stock/mod - touring (rubber)
stock-mod - 12th
wgt - (pick a motor)
vta

3 pan car - 3 sedan. each with some kind of 'outlaw' version.

(i still don't know why we suddenly gained another pan car class just by making the parts bigger, but whatever). (even as a tc guy, i could admit that the 12th scale tc's introduced around 5 years ago were gayer than my sleeping with six young men - simultaneously ).

WGT is definitely a head-scratcher.

It seems to me it was a failed attempt at having a "VTA" class for pan cars. I think some people were thinking ultra realistic bodies, spec tires, etc but it never seemed to really catch on as that and seems like it is dying quickly (at least around here).

Touring Car Rubber Sportsman 17.5 (No previous top 10 finishes in non sportsman classes)
Touring Car Rubber Super Stock 13.5
Touring Car Rubber Mod

12th Scale 17.5 1s LiPo Sportsman (Same as above + control tire)
12th Scale 10.5 1s LiPo Super Stock (control tire)
12th Scale Mod

Open Class (To be decided by the event coordinator)
VTA-WGT-TC Foam-F1-ETC

That gives at least 2 classes everyone can run and gives 2 classes for people who do not yet posses the skills to compete in the higher classes.

Personally, I think the real head scratcher is the bear... (he has strange ways).

In regards to RC in VTA, it is why the latest hi-zoot chassis are allowed, then you limit it to only one motor mfg. You limit costs in one area and not others that count, too.

WGT is simple, 13.5, spec tires and single cell lipo, pick from a list of shells that emulate GT racing. The cars are fast enough to be fun, yet offer great competition. But, everybody has their own.

12th stock/mod
WGT
Sedan rubber stock/mod
VTA - I guess

Well, if we're going to end up with ESC's that make spec motors run like mods, I guess it's time to slow things down again.

21.5 VTA
17.5 Rubber Sedan
Mod Rubber Sedan*
17.5 1/12
Mod 1/12

* Something that makes mod sedan more compelling to the people are are kind of in the middle (the current 13.5 crowd) would be good. Maybe 1S or something.
