Thumbs up amazing novak 10.5 motor!!

hey everyone,
i recently got a novak 10.5 brushless motor and everyone said that it would run about 30 mph. i have a tamiya tto1 with a 55t spur and a 25t pinion gear. i threw on the 10.5 and took it out for a test run and the moment i punched it my mouth dropped and was blown away by the speed of it.since everyone was saying that it goes bout 30 to 35 mph with the right gearing i wasn't expecting too much, but it was faaaaaaaaast. i used to race and run brushed motors. i have a brushed 6 turn and clocked it by running next to a car, my dad was in the car.....it was a long smooth road and top speed was just over 50 mph, but my novak 10.5 ran faster than my 6turn. probably about 52-55mph!!!!so if you are wondering about the novak ss 10.5 brushless motor there you go

according to my research and experience, 10.5r can hit 50mph+ when it is with 3S Lipo. At 2S Lipo, the motor cannot rev that high to give that type of speed.

what voltage are you running the novak 10.5? also which esc did you use?

Bear in mind that this is geared 25/55, that's barely an FDR of 2. Assuming the motor will pull that gear it will go FAST.

Your new lipos will not improve top speed much but they will cause the car to accelerate much better than it does now.

Tt01 has an internal ratio of 2.6 so the final gear ratio with 55/25 gears is around 5.7

at my track wich has a 330 feet straight a TC Car with a 13.5t 2s lipo can hit 47-49m/h. With a pro10 car we reach speeds around 55-56 m/h with a 10.5t and 2s lipo measured with a speed trap. Mind you this is on a track, not a long piece of asphalt road.

if the meter on your dads car says 50m/h the real speed of that car will be less then that. Probably 45 or 46.
