Here itīs a little different. I could get Tamiya parts way cheaper than parts from Yokomo, HPI or Associated.
But..... usually I donīt need spareparts with my EVO3.

With proper shiming and the backing plate the Evo 3 should be a real killer.

The balance of the car is the closest to the Pro 4 among all the shaft drive cars and aside of the front one way gear it is probably the most bullet proof of all shaft drive cars.

Cheers

BTW i have the yokomo/black special and i have driven both the pro4 and cuda R2/R3
I have brought one of these gears and IMHO it looks weak in comparison to the new tamiya gear they have done. I have both sat here and would pick the tamiya gear every time. Rick

Hi Rick,

I am suprised you were able to buy the gear from Xenon. Hanami the guy who runs and owns Xenon told me that he had only made a few to try out. I got one of him before he went to thailand for the TITC.

Has Tamiya launched new gears for the Evo 3?

Thanks for the feedback

Cheers

Yes It's a running change so just look for it. Also, it fits the Tamiya backing plate much better and doesn't work too well with the penguin plate.

The Yokomo SD is one of the fastest cars IMHO. It does needs some work to go even faster than out of the box (it IS fast out of the box) though.

RCChamp had them in stock, tbh i would have the tamiya one everytime. The xenon gear just has a slight lip all the way round it not as beefy as the new tamiya gear. Rick
