Default what if I go over charging cell # capacity?

I have the Novak Digi Peak charger. It says do not charge more than 8 cells. What would happen if I did charge more than 8 cells? I plan to charge 12 cells but at a lower amp.

It probably wouldn't peak the cells. Once the cells reach the charger's max voltage, it would shutoff, instead of charging to the pack's full voltage.

Your charger won't blow up.

But the pack won't be charged either.

Kind of makes it pointless to try.

I would think your charger could over heat because the input voltage is only going to be around 14 volts. 12 cells is 14.4 (1.2 nom) and gp peak at about 1.4-1.5 Therefore in order to compensate, the charger will draw more amps.
