Questions?? havok 1/10 spec brushless system 10.5

I'm just getting into brushless coming from brushed set ups. I know that brushless is faster and sure that i can handle the speed, but i dont know what brushless set up to get. I found a havok 1/10 spec brushless system 10.5 mad eby novak and I'm wondering if that would be good for me. I'm gonna race with it, but i just dont know if this one is right for me, and planning on putting a 5000 made by reedy. plaese give me tips and adviceon this set up.

I personaly would not be looking at the Havoc system right now. There has been a lot of problems with it shutting down for no apparent reason.
The solution is to sent it back to Novak for a "fix", but you will have to pay the shipping cost to do it and have down time while it is there.
I think the LRP or Tekin would be a better choice.

thanks. but when you mean by shutting down do you mean for a few seconds or minutes or do you mean permanently until i get it fixed.

What i have herd is the Havoc is shutting down due to heat and not resetting, so to answer your question it shuts down and then it's off to Novak for repair.
I run 3 havoc esc's and have not had that problem, so I guess I will call myself lucky.
If you are looking for a decent set up on a budget, Havoc is not a bad deal as the Tekins and LRP's are more money, but good systems. I have not had the best of luck with Tekin, bought a RS and had to send it in 3 times for the same problem, so i went back to my trusty Novak ESC's.
Now with that said, please understand, I will not talk bad about Tekin, I have used their stuff in the past and it is excellent quality, but it's just not for me.

Not long, but it's a 21.5 and it didn't overheat once the whole day. The new ones have been improved significantly. Don't get an older one.

When an ESC brushless cuts out, it has to of temped out. Many hobbiest tend to over gear. alway try a smaller pinion. Brushless is more torqueier the brushed.

10.5 consider as a modified motor. you got to biuld up to. If still a novice, stay with the stock(17.5) till you really get good in driving. Novice to Sportman to expert are categories of ROAR. Got to start at the beginning. Thing you have in another thread, MyTTo1.

Good luck with it. Its a hobby!! You learn something new every day!
