I bought a new Diff hub from A-Main and a new rear axle. Put then together and the new diff hub is also bent. So I decided to try an associated diff hub on the new Serpent rear axle and it is fine. Nothing wrong with the axle or the Associated diff hub. I will post a picture of both the old diff hub and the new one from A-Main as soon as I get the pictures to my pc.

Here is the picture of the diff hubs. The one on the left is the one that came in the kit. The one on the right is the one that I ordered from A-Main Hobbies.

What brand of spurs are you guys using and which size is advisable for 10.5 boosted driving ? 64dp or 48 dp ?
If you can give tips on pinion range to buy then this is also welcome info :-)

64P - 40/80 but I do have two other spurs that I can not remember at this time. I believe it is a 76 or 77. But, really you need to talk to some of the racers at your track. See what ratio's they are using. What will work at my track does not mean it will work at your track. Good luck!

Okay i will go look at the tracks where i want to go drive. Was looking for a general spur that can be used on the majority of tracks with this motor and speedo setting. The tracks i will drive on will vary in size but i will go visit them first so i know where to start.

Mark Payne described the problem and solution some time back:
http://markpayneblog.blogspot.com/

after going thru this one time, I solved it more permanently with an Onpoint chassis. (which uses the AE 12R5 pivot)

the 12R5 pivot balls also help with alignment of the main chassis plate and pod plate. (the S120 balls were too tall, leaving the pod plate low compared to the main chassis)

Hello racers, just need some help with my s120 ltx. The car seems to be very twitchy on the front end. It has too much turn in and I can't get on the throttle out of a corner too much otherwise the rear end will just step out. Was thinking of adding some toe out if that would help? I'm new to 1/12th so not sure how to go about this. I'm currently using ulti tyres on an outdoor low grip asphalt track. Any suggestions would be great.

Regards, Andrew K

Please post your complete setup. Caster, camber, toe-in, shock oil, damper lube, tire compound, spring rate, ride height and tire sauce, etc.

Ok I built the car as per kit instructions, I currently have zero degrees toe, zero degrees camber, 800cst shock oil, I used a thin smear of diff grease on each tube, running 40 shore front and 30 shore rear ulti tyres. The front springs are kit and so is centre shock. I'm currently running 4mm ride height front and rear. I've installed a futaba mini servo for steering duties. I usually do a full application of tyre additive for the rears and only inner 1/3 for the fronts, both around 10 minutes before the race. I'm using an orca rx2 4.0 motor matched to an orca vx1 esc and orca 1s lipo to power it up. Weight balance is slightly bias to battery side. I think that's about it for my setup. My initial thoughts was to increase front ride height, no tyre treatment on the front, remove grease on damper tubes to lighter oil. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Andrew K

You can try ae black side springs, softer center spring and also flip the ball on the lower front arm and readjust the ride height. All these will help.
