Anumber of companies make gears down to as small as 72 teeth, including Precision, Xenon, CRC, and Kimbrough.

Sure you can. I'm running a 72 tooth spur on mine (17.5 blinky).

No. You should find a source for Serpent parts, Ashford usually has a decent stock, Stormer and A-main also stock them. I've been banging mine around for almost 2 years and only broken a side link, a front axle, and upper and lower front arms. The front damage all occurred at the same time on a very cold day.

I highly recommend getting CRC 1/12 scale kingpins, a 5-40 tap, and tap the steering blocks so you can use the CRC kingpins. This is mainly because 1) The CRC kingpins are readily available and 2) The Serpent ones tended to snap right where the threads end, causing you to have to replace both the kingpin and steering block. The CRC ones just bend, so you can at least remove them and re-use the steering block. I've been running the CRC kingpins for more than a year and haven't had to replace a single one.

I also run an IRS 1/12 scale rear axle and left side hub, as the Serpent ones are kind of cheesy (at least compared to the IRS one).

Go to Tekin's website and look up setups in all categories and adjust your settings from there. This is what I had to do for my 10.5/S120L on a small carpet track. You may also contact On-Point Racing for gearing or other setups to help get you on track.

Check out gearchart.com -> click chart creator or something, select pancar, type in your spur, tyre diameter and put in a random pinion (try around 45) and click the rollout button. It'll give you 15 pinions and spurs either side

I'm trying to decide between the S120LT and the CRC xti. I like the fact that the Serpent is metric. But do the hubs on the newer LT use standard bolts or the metric 2.6 I was reading about?

The LT uses 3 mm screws throughout except for the rear pod and antenna shock mount. Hubs are 3 mm with the heads turned down to go in the wheels most tires come on.
