I put through my order with stormer hobbies on the LT and just asked them to email me when it was in with shipping costs. Once i get that, I want to combine my previous order with that also, as it has some backorder stuff on it.
You can order them now and pay for it straight up, or just tick the email me with shipping costs box, and pay for it once its sorted. That way at least your name is assigned to one

Just pop it on back order. We don't charge your card until the day it ships.

Got a few questions about the Serpent front end.

What's the notch for on the bottom of the king pin?

Is the king pin length adjustable for droop and different spring lenghts by screwing it in or out? Or screw it in all the way and that's it?
Can I use the CRC king pins?

Can the AE front springs be used instead of the Serpent ones?

Thanks

The notch (slot, I'm assuming) is for an E-clip to hold the spring in place. Or did you mean in the very bottom of the kingpin? It is a hex for tightening in the plastic.

Yes, adjust by turning the kingpin in and out.

You can use CRC king pins if you first tap the plastic using a 5-40 tap. That's what I do. I use a bottoming tap to thread them all the way in. If you don't tap the 5-40 threads first, you'll most likely either strip the allen wrench, or not be able to thread them in far enough. Or both.

Yes, you can use AE springs.

How well does this car compare to the AE and CRC car? I personally like the design, but I'm curious why people want to use parts from other cars?

I can only speak for myself, and I race on a low bite, dusty carpet, but this is the best car I have driven here. It was fast out of the box and continues to impress. People are always looking to improve anything, and everyone's preferences are different, so they try to improve the car and tailor it to their needs. If you race on less than super bite carpet, I don't think you will be disappointed in this car. The quality of the parts is the best.

Mainly parts availability and convenience. Lots of tracks carry CRC and AE parts. The first run of Serpent kingpins were notoriously brittle, and would snap right where the threads ended (in the plastic), so you'd have to replace the kingpin and plastic block. The CRC kingpins are stronger, and they bend instead of break.
