Don't be to quick to get rid of your old 7 digit PT's. Depending on which decoder the track has you will probably need one of each for the next few years!

Thumbs down Just ranting...............

If AMB had listened to the purchasers of their products in the first place they would be in great shape. Now they come out with a new system to try to stop the clone's (who are making great products) from making something the people wanted, a cost effective lap counter with an owner replaceable wire. Now they introduce a new item with no replaceable wire.. I guess all the years of soldering wires and battery bars was not enough practice for us because they must think we are incapeable of doing it ourselves . Thanks for the new item that will do nothing more than make you money.

AMB has had a monopoly on RC until MRC started. Now there trying to choke that out. I don't see it happening. How many " clubs" are going to go out and buy new timing loops and decoders and software to support 8 digits?? AMB make a competively priced compatiable new unit, call MRC they can tell you how it's done. Quit trying to control and manipulate the scoring system market. And gouging people for your products.

According to this, no one needs to upgrade the timing loop or hardware. This new transmponder works with existing hardware. Which also means that the MRT will still work. Which also means that if the previously stated price is right, all old used ones will drop in price.

As long as the pricing is not out of whack, I only see good things.

So gotta BUY software updates. Does noone else see this. This is worse than the OPEC controling gas prices.

Not with the software I use... updates are free.

But will my decoder see it?? Will there be firmware updates? Then will it still work with 7 dig PT/clones/HTP's??

It never ceases to amaze me how people have put a company that has for all sense of the word illegally used AMB's patented technology and copyrighted codes on this pedestal as "Savior of RC Racing"! Then I read "AMB has had a monopoly on RC until MRC started". If the bootleg clone company is so great why don't they have a decoder as well? I doubt that AMB has ever sent a goon squad out to squash out new technology!

AMB has enjoyed a monopoly on lap-timing which in some countries is illegal, perhaps this is why MRT has been able to make a superior product at a better price without being "squashed". AMB has no justification to charge the prices they do other than their competitive monopoly.

55 Euro only seems like a good price because the market had accepted higher prices (). 25 Euro would be more easily acceptable.
