That will depend on your track and speedo choice.

I'm a bit confused guys on which speedo to choose for 10.5
I've been using the X12 10.5 motor and love it but should I now buy an SXX TC Spec speedo for it or wait for the SXX Stock Spec Speedo release?

I run paimarily indoors rubber tyre on carpet with a Tamiya TRF 416

Thanks for any advice and opinions

Paul

I tested the 17.5 X12 today for the first time in my 416 with a SPX. I started out on profile 6, FDR 4.86, and the stock "0" degree timing insert. It was fast, but the motor was at 180 F after two minutes. I ended up with profile 6, FDR 5.2, and the "-5" degree timing insert. It temped at 180 F after 8 minutes. This was in ~85 F ambient. I did not try the "-10" degree insert though I am thinking about using it with a higher FDR.

The manual says not to use profiles 7 or 8 on the SPX. I don't think it's necessary because this thing is so fast. As some have reported, the motor does feel very much like a brushed motor due to the magnet being so strong. The only handling issue that caused was under braking. The brakes are so powerful, it will lock up your front wheels with the slightest tap if your brakes are set to 100%. All I needed to do was turn down my brakes on my radio to fix that.

So will the LRP SXX StockSpec have anything for the BD speedo in 1:12 1S LiPO? I was running the SPX against the BD's in 10.5 and I was getting walked down the straight away with ease by the BD.

Let's hope so. It would be a shame for LRP to drop a new speedo for stock racing that isn't AT LEAST on par with the current competition.

Come on BLUE DIAMOND!!!

Has anyone taken an X12 17.5t apart to figure out why it is different than other 17.5t motors? Rotor inner diameter, outer diameter, length, rotor material, stator dimensions...
