Default X12+SPX+5cell nimh

hi Reto.
here in Denmark we are still racing with 5cell nimh, and i just tested the new X12 17.5T motor, together with my SPX but only set the timing on 6 as its says in the manuel. but the motor is slower the my old X11 17.5T motor. and therefore I have some questings.
1: can the SPX speedo handle the X12 motor in program 7 or 8 when i only are racing with 5 cells ?
2: how should i gear the X12 comparet to my X11 ?
3: will timing the X12 make it go faster ?

ok so would the sxx comp be more powerfull for a 13.5 or the stockspec version is really what it boils down to, if i grab the sxx comp now, or wait...

Default X12 10.5 temps and gearing

Hope someone can help me with a starting point for gearing for a Tamiya 416 indoors on large carpet track with rubber tyres. Using the SXX TC spec speedo Profile 8 and new X12 Stock Spec 10.5 motor. Tried the gearing suggested in the instructions and its coming off at 80+ degrees C which seems a bit warm to me.Its fast and good punch but is this temp ok? If not can you suggest something more suitable please

Cheers

Found this on the first page from the link posted:
The revolutionary and exclusive “TwinBEC” operates down to 3.0V which means that there is no need for a receiver pack with even 1S packs!

The 13.5 motor would run faster with the SXX Stock Spec. That speed control has timing advance throughout the profiles, and the profiles are also better for spec racing.

I would still run either a voltage booster or an Rx pack. Some extra safety comes with the voltage booster, but the Rx pack would be better if you plan on running any motor hotter then a 10.5.

I used a 7.30 final drive on our track and it has a 90 foot straight. The temp is ok. It will take a lot of heat. The rotor and quality of the motors are the best.

Are the spec winds fast? Like compared to the DUO and such.

Personally, I think people that are worried about temps under 90c are worried about nothing. Im in australia and it is unbelievably hot here. We dont race over 38c air temp days but there are times where we race around that mark and track temp can be around 60c. I have run 3 of the X 11 motors now and they saw up to 8 or 10 runs a day and i always gear them at or around 85-90c. I never run fans or heat sinks and they are still good motors. Not great but not soft by any means. Cant wait to get my hands on this new combo.

Default Hmmm

Just recently got into 1/12th and just threw in a novak combo and since I've seen this I'll be waiting for it... But does anyone know any sort of release date... Thankfully my track is open year round so I dont need to rush before the end of the season.. plus my driving obv still needs inprovment anyway.....

Also, the link has an error or is it just me?
