I would say that the MMP already has a better system.

I just switch to tekin and back in top again my MMP will be on my pitbox until they release a better software and a smaller foot print.

Not sure why you want it smaller. The other competitors are big. I got the novak kinetic right now and it is huge. The SP guys are crammed in their too.
As for software, I assume you are talking about turbo. I have no doubt that is coming. But for now just gearing up makes up for not having it. Only on really huge tracks does it really make a difference. The only reason I got the kinetic was to test it versus Mamba and Tekin. So far not much difference. Although it does seem to be smoother. Almost too smooth and I had to add decrease the drive freq a little to get some more rip out of the corners. Mamba still has more rip.

Hardcore racers keep backups for the backups! Plus I think Jochim still believes in Castle like he did before Tekin brought out "Turbo".

I'm driving on a really huge track and am not able to make up wih gearing.

Indoor, and on small tracks, the Mamba is just as fast as any other (or bettter) but on my outdoor track I just can not keep up.

Yay! My MMP 1 cell fits between the servo and the antenna/shock post (with just a little modification) on my CRC Gen XL, all while staying in its armored case.

Default Need a MMP suggestion for the Slash 4X4

If i told you that it was for a very talented driver, what Mamba would you suggest for a Slash 4X4 upgrade from the VXL. He wants more power/speed and I am confident he can handle it. But from what i read online...it looks like maybe the truck drivetrain cannot handle it? They have all of the 1/10 mamba max combo's on sale on Tower and with discount...they are $134. The Mamba Max Pro's are $160 after discount. If he had achoice....he would buy the 7700 of either. I was leaning towards the 6900 which most people seem to feel is still way too much power for a heavy truck like the slash. Trying to convince him that a 5700 will be bettwer than a 6900 or a 7700 is a sell that I can't back up myself. We are not the type that hook a pc up to a vehicle, he turns the thing on and lets it fly! Again, he is a racer (motocross, go-cart, etc). he understands throttle control. What would you suggest?
Thanks!

Jim

PS Maybe even a different brand or motor size?

Im new to brushless motors, I just picked up an MMP to run in my old Yokomo BD touring car. I will be running a 17.5 Duo2 motor with my MMP in the non boosted set up.

I am hoping you guys can answer a few questions for me.
I tried to flip through this thread to see if I could find my answers, but I didnt see what I am after.

I have the castle field link, after reading all the instructions and connecting my MMP to my computer, I picked the the software version v1.26 per the ROAR approved ESC list.
I then selected forward w/o reverse.

I have no idea what else to change so I uploaded those settings to the MMP.

After Calibrating my 3PKS per the instructions, I found the ESC continues to be in reverse mode. I pulled throttle, motor spins correctly, hit the brakes, get brakes, but when I return to neutral, then back to brakes I get reverse. Which would suggest I am in the reverse lock out setting.
So I connected my field link to the MMP with out my computer. Set the red LED to forward only then turn off switch, plug back into my RX and find I still have reverse. I attempted this several times but still cant get it out of reverse mode.
Am I not saving the change properly?

Also, what settings should I be looking at for the 17.5 class rubber tire on carpet TC?
Any one have any suggestions?
