I have only recently switched to the newer firmware for offroad, as I really like torque control on loose, low traction tracks. For onroad I don't need this so, 1.26 has been working well.

I just bought a GM 13.5 Pro motor and well its slow as crap. I was thinking of using the timing feature on the MMP to give the motor a little more kick. What are some good settings I could start out with? I dont fully understand the Timing and rpm relationship.

What are you putting it in?

Here is a good starting point. But knowing the car is more helpful as I can also recommend approx. gearing.

Starting RPM is the point at which the ESC starts to apply dynamic timing advance to the motor.
Ending RPM is the point where the total amount of timing is done being applied.
So the smaller the RPM window the faster the timing is applied to the motor. For most situation always pick the largest window using the drop down window.

I would start with 25-30 degrees of timing
start RPM of 5000 - 6000 and end of around 15,000 - 20, 000. These numbers are not exact as I don't have the software in front of me. However you get the idea that there should be about 10 - 15 thousand RPM's between the start and end values. If you want the boost to feel harder then shorten the window, but for long back straights I would keep it wide and gear up a little for the in-field.

ok, I was playing with a a custom rpm of 3.5-28k with 30%. I will narrow it a little.

Default BAD ESC? Yellow LED flashing

Here's one for all you mamba max pro experts,

The yellow LED is flashing, It calibrates OK, it responds to programming via the castle link, I have updated the firmware. everything seems fine except the yellow LED is flashing, The yellow LED flashing did NOT start when updating firmware
the motor will not run.

So what can i do?
Can it be other than the ESC itself that is bad?

Flashing yellow usually means "Blinky" mode. I had one that flashed yellow with solid green while at full throttle and had no motor response and that one had to be sent in.

Hello,

I hame some problem tuning my MMP.
Wile other guys run down alucinating top speeds I look like a tourist in the straight line. My FDR is like them - 5.7, running 26 degrees advance in ESC and LRP Stock Spec 13.5T with the lowest timing.

The motor is generating too much heat and the car is not fast in the straight.Other guys with similar FDR pass-me by as I was not on throttle.
They have LRP and GM esc's

Settings are:

Xray T3 2011
Pinion 26
Spur 78
Punch 20%
Motor timing (lowest on LRP 13.5T)
Esc timing 26º

Cheat activation 10000-12000

For the motor not heat I have to reduce the pinion but i will loose even more straight.

Very disapointed and all the guys tell me to buy a LRP as I am the only one to have Castle, because I like-it.

Please Help?

Probably, the problem is FDR...
I Use 10.5T LRP Stock Spec with lowest timing
and this is my setting
Start power: Low(for Asphalt, Medium)
Punch: disabled
Brag Brake: disabled
CHEAT mode: On
Timing: 35°
RPM 15.000 - 20.000
Torque Limit: disabled
FDR: 7,5
try it

Hi bro Luppi,

I've tried your setup and my MMP still got Beaten easily by ESC like Hobbywing or dualsky, orca those come with advance timing feature like timing boost and turbo timing.
In fact I've tried ur method earlier with timing as high as 40 but it's still slow and motor gets heat up easily. I have had the Hobbywing ESC v2.1 installed on the same car that was previously equipped with MMP and same FDR same motor it's so much faster and punchy. Does this mean it's the end of our MMP since ESC with supercharged firmware like HW, Dualsky, Orca, speed passion out there are so advance and powerful?
I like castles product and I even use their air ESC too with my plane and Heli and maybe they just too broad with ESC that's why they didn't realized their car ESC is left behind.
