You shouldn't be dissapointed in the car...
LOL funny you should mention that bit about the bumper mount...I've been eyeing it enviously since I saw the pics! I've always wondered why it was discontinued, but now that you mention it it does look kind of spindly. I figured it was TOO stiff and ended up splintering after enough hits, I know I've been through a few of the composite upper mounts because they are so bent they don't hold the body posts up straight!

1101 there is a way to mount the TRF shocks, search in this thread and you should be able to find it...having said that I still highly recommend the XRays. Yes, you will curse purple o-rings until the end of time and they are a pain to build, but do it right and they are like buttahhhh...not to mention a direct fit for the car, and I have never had one leak.

alana07, I haven't tried the 4.5 c-hubs but I really don't think they are necessary...I've always had plenty of steering with the 3's, and that is running rubber tire on asphalt with a front spool.

Talking T1 Evo2

Whatsup Dudes,
I'm kinda new to this whole electric thing, always had Nitro cars and trucks.
But I recently came up on an Xray T1 Evo2 and let me just say this car rules the roost for sure. I got the Sidewinder Castle 5700KV with a Reedy 5100 Lipo.
I cannot believe this car it completely owns all my friends anytime.
The only problem it that at speed it makes real wide turns, which is probably a radio endpoint adjustment I would guess.
I'm still using a buddies 200mm body on it so it looks kinda weird, but I'll be getting a 190 pretty soon.
I'll have to go and take some pics to post up for you guys to see huh.
Does anyone else have this car? Is there anything I should know about it, Tips/Tricks?
Thanks Dudes.

LipoXrayEvo2

Without seeing pics of the car or setup info, it is too hard to tell you why it is taking turns that way.
You could have a spool in the front, Wrong tires for the surface your running on, Shock setup off etc etc.

The T1 Evo 2 was the 2nd to last version of the T1 cars which the form is named after.
If I recall it was:
T1
T1 FOC (Freedom of Choice)
T1 Evo 2
T1 Factory Kit (FK04)

after these came the FK05 which is similar and after that came all the T2 cars.

I pretty much have every T1 car offered. I've been around for a while .. lol The newest being the FK04 currently setup for TransAm racing along with a EVO2 set up for TransAm.

Good luck with it ... there are built like tanks and handle pretty good!!

We have two FK04's. We race Super Stock and Trans Am with them.

Here's the most helpful book I've owned for Xray on road cars...download it:

That sounds like your car is pushing, also called understeer. That Hudy guide I posted the link to gives you instructions of what to do.

What kind of track surface are you running the car on and are you using traction compound?

I have two evoII's thay are excelent cars and are still very competitive cars today. As mentioned it sounds like you have an on-power push but to help you we need your setup and is the car pushing at entry, mid or exit.

How many people here are running a Lipo in the T1 on the right side and the servo on the left? Anyone besides me?
I'd like to share some setups.. especially if you run the TransAm class.

I run my SMC sideways against the rear bulkhead, it seems to work fine.

I am currently running this way also but I run the car in a TC oval class on outdoor asphalt so not much help for sharing setup tips.

I've tried this also but found the lipo will slide rather easy, are you using tape or the straps?

Oh and I need T1 lower shock mounts (the long ones)...any love? I bought some T2 lower mounts a while back hoping they would "work in a pinch", well "a pinch" came and they were too short...not enough threads on the shock body to set ride height!

Which shock Towers are you using Rocky?

I switched most of my T1 cars over to factory Kit shock towers and I had to swicth the shock shafts and lower shock mounts to T2 stuff to keep from hitting the bladders ... smooth as 'buhder' now .. lol Are you using T2 shafts also? I was looking through my parts bin a while back and noticed 3 or 4 different length of shock bodies. 1 set was shorter than the T2 stuff - I thought that was odd.

Hi there. My T1R has the side by side 3+3 batt pack setup.
My (split) batt pack has to be wiggled under the upper deck & belt & out the other side on my T1R.

I just had a solder join/tab break on the batt, presumably after wiggling it in & out of the car over the last 2 weeks.
Is this common on these cars to have the DIY batt packs break solder bars off
or was it just a bad join?? -not guilty, batt came with the car
Is there any good way to make the pack more rigid & take the strain off the solder joins?? (shrinkwrap ??)

lovin the Xray, on the hunt for a T2....

I think I may have some Rocky, I'll look tonight and send you a PM if I have some.

Sounds like a bad solder job, when I used round cells that was not a common problem.
