Xray Basic Training

After I picked up a T1r used from a local guy who was taking a brake for the winter, raced it and I like it. I do have a few questions, (1) what shock oil do I use ( I have a lot of different oils but no xray oils avalible), (2) what springs are a good starting point for carpet, (3) also, what basic chassis setting are recomended ( caster, camber, toe). Also, what hop-ups are good on carpet?

lumberjack,
Download the Xray T1R set up guide and that will give you starting points. T1R set up book from Teamxray.com

I'll have to defer to those on the board here then. Unfortunately we don't have the fk04 setup sheets available on the website yet. There are a few fk04 setups, saved as fk05 setups, in the setup sheet section. However, they are hard to find, seeing as the authors chose to note the fk04 designation in the notes section (not searchable) and not the title. I can only offer up my own wierd, but working, one-way foam/carpet setup.

The best set up i ever ran on my 04 was josh's from cleveland last year. It was DIALED, although he ran a split chassis for stock it works much better with a bmi 350 or with the xray 3.5 mill and one battery forward. The full split chassis for stock has too much weight forward.

Smile T1r Basic Training

I picked up a used t1r to race on carpet in stock/sportsman. It's got a wide upper deck on it as the only hop-up, what other hop-ups will I need to make it better. Also, what springs are a good starting point for high grip ozite? TIA,Dan
