teamgp,

Hi, I end up with this setting ( see attachment ). It's very much stable and much better now . The car doesn't enter wide or slide at exit. Cornering get higher speed at entry or exit, but still lose to TRF 415..... can't defend my racing line.

Any other suggestion to improve aggressiveness such as more cornering speed, especially corner entry, teamgp ? Do see any weakness or contradiction with the objective I've been searching ? maybe you see something that I don't see.

I know this goes against conventional wisdom (all opposed feel free to laugh and scoff ), but I would suggest putting on a 2mm front anti-roll bar. While reading a scale chassis design book, I came across this tip. Even though front roll is decreased, traction across both front tires is higher than if most of the weight is shifted to the outside tire. The key is the front tires have to provide enough traction themselves and since the front doesn't roll as much, cornering speeds will increase.

What I've found is that steering is increased throughout the corner, especially with a one-way. On asphalt with low traction I had to dial in some corner entry steering by using pro-squat to allow the rear to raise up quicker, but you already have this in your setup.

With the front roll bar, you'll probably want to flatten out the front arms from their current pro-dive position and use holes #4 & #3 on the bulkhead for medium front roll center. And since this will take away 3 degrees of caster, I would suggest shortening the front camber links to get back the camber gain you'll lose with less caster in order to keep the front tires contact patch level mid corner. I would suggest the shortest setting using inner link hole #3.

Its eccentric, but try it if you have a front anti-roll bar and let me know.

Thanks teamgp..... I will put thick front stabilizer and level the position of front suspension arms. I must beat my friend TRF 415 this weekend.

Redline M03 : TRF 415, T1 FK, T1 FK05 are the strongest of its kind. However, nothing survive if you hit too hard.

Alrighty. Post your entire setup, without the front anti-roll bar, on the Xray site here so I can get a good look at it.

It's okay teamgp....... you have done a lot, thank you very much. The car handling is good now..... much better even with all batteries in one side.

Anyway, last night I decided to change battery configuration into 3+3 for good. I have to use different battery strap ( thanks to YR4 SP ) in order to accept IB3800 cells.

See the pic of my car .... Can you see the double chassis I made ?

Default Set-up HELP

I mostly race electric off road and have a T1Raycer. Is there anywhere I can find a good starting set-up for parking lot racing. Currently the car is set up fo SoCal raceway with low ratio pulleys and a front one way. Thanks.

Also..what setup tools do you recommend?

Thanks again.

You should be able to find a good setup for the T1R on www.mytsn.com .

Hey teamGP!! I was hoping you might let me pick your brain a bit? I currently have a warpspeed chassis set on a near fk'04 t1R (long arms) I also have the XRC 3.9 mm chassis with the batteries moved up about 1/4 of an inch. What type of handling characteristics would I expect If I used this Chassis. As far as i can tell the warpspeed has the same overall placement as the t1R composite chassis. Thanks in advance--Al

I'm assuming you mean the XRC 3.5mm chassis, correct?

With my fk04 I switched to the XRC chassis as well. Not only are the batteries moved forward, but the servo is moved forward and in towards the centerline. To balance out the rest of the chassis, I had mounted my speedo in the open space rearward and inward as close to the batteries and belt as I could and the receiver sat on top of the servo. It sounds weird, but this was the best weight distribution I found using four food scales underneath each tire. With the new weight distribution I recognized better overall steering and quicker transitions through chicanes which allowed me to hang with the FK05's earlier this year before everyone sorted them out and I was forced to step up to the new car.
